90 Minutes in the Wonderland of China: A Public Lecture at DU Confucius Classroom

当地时间2018年10月27日下午两点,道加瓦皮尔斯大学孔子课堂举办了一场主题为“中国奇妙之旅”的公开讲座。此次讲座总共持续了一个半小时,主讲人为两位汉语志愿者教师——白冰玉和刘晶铭,参加者为来自道加瓦皮尔斯以及周边城镇的中学生。

在讲座开始之前,首先由校长玛雅对道加瓦皮尔斯大学的汉语课堂和两位汉语教师进行了简单的介绍,紧接着,伴着同学们的阵阵掌声,白冰玉为此次公开讲座讲述了一段热情的开场白,并介绍了孔子学院的项目和学习汉语的好处。之后,刘晶铭用一个简短的视频引入中国概况,从最核心的词——“中国”入手,来学习汉语中最简单的问候语,包括“你好”、“谢谢”、“不客气”、“再见”,同时通过“抛绣球”活动和为视频配音的方式,让同学们积极参与,讲座气氛非常活跃。接下来,白冰玉讲解了数字和中国人表示数字的手势,通过Bingo游戏让同学们记忆数字并乐在其中。

两位教师秉承着“寓教于乐”的教学理念,让在座的同学们学到了知识,感受到了学习的快乐。讲座结束后,校长带领了同学们一起用中文表达了对两位教师的感谢,并赠送了礼物。最后,同学们带着满满的成就感和老师们道别。

Local time at 14:00, 27th Oct, 2018, the lecture named 90 Minutes in the Wonderland of China was held at Daugavpils University. The two volunteer Chinese teachers from Confucius Classroom and about 70 school students from Daugavpils and nearby towns attended the lecture.

 

Before the lecture, prof. Maija Burima, Vice Rector for Studies introduced the two teachers Bai Bingyu and Liu Jingming to the students. Then, teacher Bai Bingyu set a warm opening of the lecture and introduced Confucius Classroom at DU with a memorial video of last academic year. She also explained the possible programs which Confucius classroom students could take part in. Later, teacher Liu Jingming showed a video about China to the students, which started the wonderful journey about China and learning Chinese. She taught the basic tones and greeting phrases of Chinese to the students in a series of funny activities, such as dubbing a movie and throwing the “brocade ball”, which is inspired by a traditional Chinese game. After that, teacher Bai Bingyu introduced Chinese featured gestures and pronunciation of number 1 to 10. Throw an easy bingo game, students remembered the numbers and gestures well.

 

At the end of the lecture, prof. Maija Burima granted teachers a gift and led all the students to say thanks in Chinese to the teachers, which created a touching atmosphere immediately. The students left with a sense of accomplishment as well.
