“Learning Chinese with Peter Petrovich Schmidt” Lecture was successfully held

2019年4月24日星期三，北京外国语大学博士生罗薇带来了一场主题为“和彼得·彼得洛维奇·施密特一起学汉语——《汉语官话语法试编》翻译中的若干思考”的讲座，拉脱维亚大学外方院长贝德高教授，拉脱维亚大学人文学院教师卡琳娜等都出席了这次活动。罗薇老师先介绍了施密特的生平，然后针对施密特教授的《汉语官话语法试编》一书分别从体例、内容和教学理念三个部分进行了详细的介绍，讲座的后半部分罗薇结合施密特的汉语教学理念和学生进行了互动教学，进行了数词的认读；量词和名词的搭配练习；比较了用俄语字母标注出来的汉字发音和普通话发音的差异；并结合施密特对“一”的变调的理解，让学生在实际的例子种体会“一”的三种不同的发音条件，整个讲座学生都积极地参与发言，现场气氛十分热烈。学生们也普遍觉得自己收获很大，让他们对一个十分熟悉的名字的人有了更加深入的认识和理解，也激发了学生进一步学习汉语的热情和自豪感。

On Wednesday, April 24, 2019, doctor of philosophy Luo Wei from Beijing Foreign Studies University, introduced the lecture and shared some thoughts on the topic “Learning Chinese with Peter Petrovich Schmidt” – translation of “Chinese Mandarin Grammar Trial”. Professor Pēteris Pildegovičs, dean of the University of Latvia, and Karīna Jermaka, teacher of the Faculty of Humanities of University of Latvia, attended the event. Firstly, teacher Luo Wei introduced the life of Schmidt, then the book “Chinese Mandarin Grammar Trial” by Professor Schmidt was introduced in detail from three parts: style, content and concept, in the second half of the lecture Luo Wei tried Schmidt’s Chinese teaching idea and conducted interactive teaching and reading to students, as well as combination of quantifiers and nouns; compared the difference between the pronunciation of Chinese characters and the pronunciation of Mandarin in Russian letters; introduced Schmidt’s understanding of the tone of “one”, let the students experience three different pronunciation conditions of “one” in the actual examples, all students in the lecture actively participated in discussion, the atmosphere was very warm. Students also generally fell that they have gained a lot, it let them to find out and learn more about a person with such a well-known name, it also stimulated students’ enthusiasm and pride to learn Chinese further.
