The 12th Chinese Bridge Competition for middle school students ended successfully in Zhengzhou
第十二届世界中学生汉语桥比赛于11月1日在河南郑州落下帷幕，高中生贝娜茜代表拉脱维亚参加了此次比赛。10月17日，拉脱维亚大学孔子学院汉语教师曾庆君带领参赛选手从里加出发到达北京，开始了为期两周的汉语桥比赛之旅。
10月18日到10月20日，在北京期间主要完成了赛前准备工作。在大赛组委会的安排下，领队老师和参赛选手一起参观了故宫、长城、鸟巢、水立方等名胜古迹。10月21日，来自全球105个国家119个赛区的264名师生应邀来到孔子学院总部参观，而后抵达郑州，正式开始了此次中学生汉语桥比赛。10月22日进行第一场比赛——学贯中西，即汉语及中国文化知识笔试。10月23日是第二场比赛——能说会道，即口语表达能力比赛。10月24日进行了第三场比赛——能歌善舞，即才艺比赛。最终的决赛在11月1日举行，拉脱维亚贝娜茜虽然未能进入前30强，但是也在比赛中提高了汉语水平，展现了独特的风采。
在比赛期间，选手们也体验了各种各样的文化活动。比如参观少林寺及塔沟武校；参观黄河风景名胜区；体验三度湖山户外营地项目；参观郑州中铁集团及三全集团等。组委会还组织了选手们走进中国学校进行中外学生交流，选手们参观了郑州11中体验新课堂并在郑州亚西斯国际学院进行了丰富的文化体验，选手们从多方位感受到了真正的、现代的中国文化，也体验了中国的教育。
在此次汉语桥比赛之旅中，选手们不仅收获了比赛经历，更是体验了真正的中华文化，收获了知识与友谊。我们相信，拉脱维亚大学孔子学院在今后的汉语桥比赛中会不断进步，取得更优异的成绩！
The 12th World Chinese Students’ Chinese Bridge Competition ended on November 1st in Zhengzhou, Henan Province. High school student Beinaxi participated in the competition on behalf of Latvia. On October 17, Zeng Qingjun，the Chinese teacher of the Confucius Institute at the University of Latvia led the team from Riga to Beijing and began a two-week Chinese Bridge Tour.
From October 18 to October 20, during the Beijing period, the preparatory work was completed. Under the arrangement of the organizing committee of the competition, the team leader and the contestants visited the Forbidden City, the Great Wall, the Bird’s Nest, the Water Cube and other places. On October 21, 264 teachers and students from 119 divisions in 105 countries around the world were invited to visit the Confucius Institute Headquarters, and then arrived in Zhengzhou to officially start the Chinese Bridge Competition. The first competition was held on October 22, mainly about Chinese language and Chinese culture. October 23 is the second competition – the oral expression ability competition. On October 24, the third competition was held -a talent competition. The final competition was held on November 1. Although Beinaxi failed to reach the top30, she improved her Chinese level in the competition and showed her unique talent.
During the competition, the contestants also experienced a variety of cultural activities. For example, visit Shaolin Temple and Tagou Kongfu School; visit the Yellow River Scenic Area; experience the Sanduhushan outdoor camp project; visit Zhengzhou China Railway Company and Sanquan Company. The organizing committee also organized the contestants to enter the Chinese school. The contestants visited Zhengzhou No.11 middle school and had a rich cultural experience at the Zhengzhou Yasis International College. The contestants felt the true feeling from many aspects: the modern Chinese culture and real Chinese education.
During the Chinese Bridge Tour, the contestants not only gained the experience of the competition, but also experienced the true Chinese culture and gained knowledge and friendship. We believe that the Confucius Institute at the University of Latvia will continue to make progress in the future Chinese Bridge competition and achieve better results!
