Directors from CIUL Participating 2019 International Chinese Language Education Conference
12月9-10日，2019年国际中文教育大会在长沙召开，来自全球162个国家和地区的550所孔子学院和1172个孔子课堂及其所在院校和中文教育机构的1000多名代表出席了会议。国务院副总理孙春兰、教育部部长陈宝生、副部长田学军、湖南省委书记杜家毫等出席会议并发表主旨演讲和致辞。
本次大会以“新时代国际中文教育的创新和发展”为主题，举办1个专题论坛，32个工作坊，围绕“中文+职业技能”，国际中文教育政策、标准、师资、教材、教学方法、考试、品牌项目建设，以及深化中外合作等议题讨论交流。
拉脱维亚大学孔子学院拉方院长贝德高教授和中方院长尚劝余教授出席了大会，贝德高院长在“论坛一：国际中文教育政策，1.3 中文教育发展与高校国际化”上正式发言，就“拉脱维亚大学开展中文教育的实践与经验”做了分享。拉脱维亚大学开展中文教育的实践，经历了三个时期，即拉脱维亚第一次独立时期（1918-1940）、苏联加盟共和国时期（1940-1990）、恢复独立时期（1991-今），拉脱维亚大学成为拉脱维亚中文教育的摇篮和基地，培养了大批汉语人才，他们活跃于拉脱维亚外交界、政界、教育界、企业界、旅游界等。拉脱维亚大学开展中文教育的经验，可以归纳为：与中国教育部和孔子学院总部合作、与拉脱维亚大学孔子学院合作、与华南师范大学合作、编辑出版词典、本土教材和书籍等。
在所有发言人中，贝德高教授是唯一用中文发言的外方代表，也是最德高望重的代表。贝教授的发言获得阵阵掌声，听众纷纷举起相机和手机拍照，还有听众走到贝教授身后，近距离拍他的发言稿，贝教授发言结束后，听众纷纷上前与他合影。
拉脱维亚大学孔子学院院长出席2019年国际中文教育大会，不仅学习借鉴其他国家代表的中文教学经验，而且分享拉脱维亚大学中文教育的实践和经验，促进了拉脱维亚大学与其他院校之间的交流。
On December 9-10, 2019 International Chinese Language Education Conference was held in Changsha, Hunan Province, China. Over 1000 representatives from 162 countries and regions (550 Confucius Institutes, 1172 Confucius Classrooms, and other institutions) participated in the conference. Vice-premier Sun Chunlan, Education Minister Chen Baosheng, Vice-Minister Tian Xuejun, Hunan Provincial Governor Du Jiahao attended the conference and gave key-note speech and addresses respectively.
The theme of this conference is “Innovation and Development of International Chinese Language Education in the New Era”. The conference consists of 1 topical forum and 32 workshops, covering such topics as Chinese + Vocational Skills, International Chinese Language Education Policy, Criteria, Teaching Staff, Teaching Materials, Teaching Methods, Examination, Cooperation, etc.
Directors Peteris Pildegovics and Shang Quanyu from Confucius Institute at University of Latvia participated the conference. Professor Peteris Pildegovics delivered a speech at Forum I: Policies of International Chinese Language Education. In his speech, Professor Peteris Pildegovics shared the Experiences of Chinese Language Education in University of Latvia which have undergone three periods such as First Independence Period (1918-1940), Soviet Union Period (1940-1990) and Restoration of Independence Period (1991-Present). The experiences of Chinese language education in University of Latvia indicate that the achievement of Chinese language education is the result of cooperation between University of Latvia and Chinese Education Ministry, Confucius Institute and South China Normal University, etc.
Among all foreign speakers, professor Pildegovics is the only one who delivers speech in Chinese. His speech receives thunderous applause, frequent camera shots and mobile phone shots. Some audiences even come to him to take close photos for his speech manuscript text. As soon as his speech comes to an end, some audiences come to him to take photos with him.
CIUL directors’ participation in 2019 International Chinese Language Education Conference not only learn Chinese language education experiences from other participants but also share University of Latvia’s practice and experiences of Chinese language education with other participants, therefore promote exchanges between University of Latvia and other institutions.
