Online Mid-Autumn Festival Class of the Confucius Institute at the University of Latvia was Successfully Held

On September 21-22, 2021, local time, the Intermediate Class of the Confucius Institute at the University of Latvia launched an online Mid-Autumn Festival class. The class was organized around three major themes—— getting close to the Mid-Autumn Festival, experiencing the Mid-Autumn Festival and celebrating the Mid-Autumn Festival.

At the beginning, volunteer Chinese teacher played a video to introduce the origin of the Mid-Autumn Festival, and the students also learned the legends and the customs of Mid-Autumn Festival while they were watching the video. Then the students were divided into two groups to have a knowledge competition. All the students showed their great interest in it. After the knowledge competition, students got a good chance to perform the story of Chang’e, feeling the beauty of Chinese cultures. In the part of experiencing the Mid-Autumn Festival, Chinese teacher took herself as an example to introduce how Chinese people celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival, and showed the process of making a mooncake. At the end of the class, students made their own lanterns to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival and took a photo to remember this wonderful moment. The distance cannot set us apart, as long as we are close in heart.

“千里聚云端，线上共团圆”，当地时间2021年9月21日至22日，拉脱维亚大学孔子学院本部中级班师生共聚云端，开展了一次丰富有趣的中秋节文化活动。此次中秋文化活动分为三大环节——初识中秋、体验中秋、欢庆中秋。

在“初识中秋”环节，汉语教师邝又君首先通过播放中秋节相关视频，带领学生一起了解了中秋节的起源、传说以及习俗等等。接着，汉语教师邝又君将学生分为两个小组，就视频里提及的一些中秋文化知识展开了一次知识竞赛。两组学生都十分活跃，遇到难题时，有的学生靠自己的笔记接连得分，有的学生求助队友，还有的学生通过抓住中秋节的关键词来推敲答案。总而言之，各显神通。知识竞赛结束之后，学生们扮演了中秋传说——“嫦娥奔月”中人物。通过表演对话，学生们练习了汉语的同时又进一步地了解了故事中的情感。在“体验中秋”环节，汉语教师以自己过中秋的照片为例，给学生介绍了中国人如何过中秋、中国人在赏月的时会吃什么等等，并通过多媒体动画与学生一起“制作月饼”。在“欢庆中秋”的环节，学生与老师一起制作了属于自己的中秋节小灯笼，拿着手中的小灯笼，大家都露出了甜美的微笑。活动最后，大家与自己的小灯笼一起合影留念，拉下了这次中秋节活动的帷幕。虽与学生远隔千里，但能在中秋佳节相聚云端，也是一种“团圆”。
