Confucius Institute at University of Latvia Released the Second Online Spring Festival Gala

At 5 pm on February 1st , 2022, Beijing time, the second online Spring Festival Gala video of the Confucius Institute at University of Latvia was officially launched on Bilibili and YouTube.

Affected by the epidemic, the Confucius Institute is still unable to hold concerts and temple fairs as in previous years to celebrate Chinese festivals with Latvians. However, all the teachers and students from the Confucius Institute at University of Latvia recorded their New Year’s greetings and talent performances into videos, which were integrated into a 2.0 version of the Spring Festival Gala that continued the traditions of the Confucius Institute. The preparatory work for this online Spring Festival Gala began on January 7 with the establishment of the WeChat group of “LUCI 2022 Spring Festival Gala Program Production Team”. It took nearly a month to complete the program production and upload it to the online platform. Chinese teacher Bai Bingyu said: “The biggest challenge of this online Spring Festival Gala is the mobilization and rehearsal of the show and the production of the party. On the one hand, January is the exam month of the University of Latvia, and it is also a holiday for many teaching sites. Many students in Latvia study from home. In this case, the volunteer teachers and students still actively communicated and rehearsed, and made great efforts and enthusiasm for the online Spring Festival Gala. On the other hand, at the beginning of the process, there were only three core members of the production team, namely Tang Heng, a volunteer Chinese teacher who served as the video editor, Tang Jing, a volunteer teacher who served as the host, and me, who was in charge of scripting, subtitle translation, and inspiration. As the preparations progressed in an orderly manner, more people joined our team, such as volunteer teachers Kuang Youjun and Wang Jiafu, as well as teachers from all the teaching sites that carefully edited their own programs to reduce production pressure. Therefore, although the production time is relatively tight, thanks to the understanding and cooperation of the members and their efficiency, we can finally present this 100 minutes of online Spring Festival Gala for everyone. So I would like to thank the team in particular the understanding, support and dedication of the members.”

The key features of this online Spring Festival Gala are as follows: First, 2021 coincides with the 10th anniversary of the Confucius Institute at the University of Latvia. People from all walks of life presented the 10th anniversary gifts to the Confucius Institute, including Ms. Deng Hong, a famous guqin performer of the Central Chinese Orchestra, and the choir of South China Normal University. These wonderful and precious clips have been included in this gala; secondly, during the Spring Festival, we will also welcome the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics. People from all walks of life in Latvia cheer for the Beijing Winter Olympics in the form of videos, including Latvian Wushu Association, Riga Culture Secondary schools and Riga 34 secondary schools. We also set up a special blessing for the Winter Olympics for this purpose.

The release of the Spring Festival Gala is the first blessing sent by the Confucius Institute at University of Latvia to the Year of the Tiger. We would like to express our thanks to all the teachers and students at each teaching site. It is your enthusiasm and wonderful performances that make this online evening so wonderful. At the same time, our team also want to send our New Year’s wishes to Latvia, wishing Latvian friends good health in the new year, even more powerful and stronger like a tiger!

回望十年，共祝冬奥  ——  拉脱维亚大学孔子学院网络春晚上线

北京时间2022年2月1日下午五点，拉脱维亚大学孔子学院第二部网络春节联欢晚会视频正式上线哔哩哔哩。大年初三上午，晚会视频也已正式上线YouTube。

受疫情影响，孔子学院今年仍然无法像往年一样举办晚会及庙会，与拉脱维亚人一起欢庆中国佳节。但拉脱维亚大学孔子学院全体师生将自己的新年祝福以及才艺表演录制成视频，融汇成一部延续了拉大孔院特色的春晚2.0版本。本次网络春晚的筹备工作始于1月7日“LUCI2022年春晚节目制作组”微信群成立，到1月31日节目制作完成，上传网络平台，历时近一个月。总负责人公派教师白冰玉说道：“这次的网络春晚最大的挑战，就是节目的动员排演和晚会的制作：一方面，一月是拉脱维亚大学的考试月，也是许多教学点的假期，其他在正常授课的教学点也是学生居家上课，很难见到其他同学。在这种情况下，志愿者教师和学生们依然积极沟通排练，为网络春晚付出了巨大的心血和热忱。另一方面，在筹备过程之初，制作组只有三位核心成员，分别是担任视频剪辑的汉语教师志愿者汤蘅，担任主持人的志愿者教师唐静，以及负责脚本、字幕翻译以及灵感创意的我。不过，后来随着筹备工作的有序进行，更多人加入到我们的团队中，例如加入剪辑师大军的志愿者教师邝又君和王嘉夫，以及为减轻制作压力，精心剪辑自己教学点节目的各教学点志愿者教师。因此虽然制作时间比较紧张，但是得益于成员们的理解配合，以及他们的高效，我们才能为大家最终呈现出这台合计100分钟的网络春晚。所以我想特别感谢团队成员们的理解支持和奉献。”

本次网络春晚的最大特色有二：一是2021年恰逢拉脱维亚大学孔子学院十周年，社会各界人士为孔子学院献上了十周年贺礼，包括中央民族乐团著名古琴演奏家邓红女士、华南师范大学合唱团以及拉脱维亚留学生们。这些精彩珍贵的片段都被收录在了本次晚会中；二是春节期间我们也将迎来2022北京冬奥会，拉脱维亚各界人士以视频形式为北京冬奥会加油，包括拉脱维亚武术协会、里加文化中学以及里加34中学。我们也为此特别设置了祝福冬奥环节。
