Chinese teaching and overseas study in Latvia meeting was successfully held
The end of the year is approaching, and we would like to celebrate the winter. In the afternoon of December 30, 2022, a meeting on Chinese language teaching and overseas study in Latvia was successfully held at the Chinese Cultural Center in Riga as scheduled.
The meeting was hosted by Karina Jermaka and attended by Ambassador Liang Jianquan, Minister counsellor Song Danhui, Counsellor Dai Lan, Director Qu Qingyuan, Secretary Liang Weiquan, Consul Zhang Zeyang from the Chinese Embassy, Latvian Director Peteris Pildegovics, Chinese Director Shang Quanyu and teachers’ representatives Anastasija Galkina, Madara Smalka, Evita Kalme, Bai Bingyu, Tang Jing, Liu Xian, Li Xin, Yang Caiyun, Zhu Boqing, Wang Beiya, from Confucius Institute at University of Latvia, Director Wang Nan, Han Zhuang, Yang Sen, Parsla Dambe, Wang Dan, Xie Dong and Wang Gengyun from Chinese Cultural Center in Riga, and representative from University of Latvia’s Faculty of Humanities/China Study Alumni Association of Latvia Karina Jermaka, Chinese students’ representatives Wang Hanxi, Lin Chenjie, Lu Weilin,Song Zizhen,Gu Jian, Wang Yiran,Wan Xinyi, etc., a total of 34 participants.
During the meeting, Director Wang Nan gave us a wonderful opening speech from the perspective of close integration of language and culture. Director Shang Quanyu introduced the development of Chinese language teaching in Latvia in more than 100 years from 1920 to 2022. In these 100 years, Chinese language teaching has developed from one site to multiple sites then to allover country, covering kindergartens, elementary schools, secondary schools, universities and the community in major cities in the whole country. Professor Pildegovics introduced the current situation of Chinese teaching in Latvia, mentioning that due to the Covid-19 epidemic and other reasons, three teaching sites have stopped teaching Chinese, but at the same time there are also new Chinese teaching sites that will be opened one after another, such as Liepaja Maritime Academy, Riga 13 Secondary School, Riga 45 Secondary School, etc. Then, the Chinese teachers introduced the Chinese teaching situation of each teaching site in turn, the teachers who were not present showed the pre-recorded introduction video, and the Chinese students’ consular protection volunteer Wang Hanxi introduced the situation of Chinese students. Then, Ambassador Liang Jianquan made a concluding speech. He affirmed the work of all of participants and hoped that they would continue to play a greater role in the exchange between the two countries, and said that the exchange visits between China and Latvia America would definitely increase next year. In the end, the participants took a group photo and enjoyed the New Year dinner together in a happy atmosphere.
We believe that with the support and cooperation of all parts, Chinese language teaching in Latvia will flourish and Sino-Latvian relations will get better and better!
岁末将至，敬颂冬绥。当地时间2022年12月30日下午，拉脱维亚中文教学暨留学工作交流会在里加中国文化中心如期顺利举行。
本次交流会由卡琳娜主持，参会人员有中国大使馆梁建全大使及夫人戴蓝参赞、宋丹卉公参、屈清源主任、梁卫泉秘书、张泽阳领事，拉大孔子学院拉方院长贝德高、中方院长尚劝余以及教师代表高安娜、马笑笑、艾薇塔、白冰玉、唐静、李欣、刘贤、汪贝娅、杨彩云、朱柏清、张桂英，里加中国文化中心王楠主任以及韩庄、杨森、艾文、王丹、谢东、王耕耘，留学生代表王涵曦、林辰杰、卢伟霖、宋紫珍、谷健、王一然、万心怡，共34人。
会上，王楠主任从语言和文化紧密结合的角度给我们带来了精彩的开场白。尚劝余院长介绍了拉脱维亚中文教学经历的从1920年到2022年这一百余年的发展历程，这一百余年里，中文教学由一枝独秀到多点开花再到遍地开花，遍布东南西北中主要城市，涵盖幼儿园、小学、中学、大学和社会人士，经统计，现总共有10个城市的20多个中小学和大学开设了中文课程。贝德高教授介绍了拉脱维亚中文教学现状，提到由于新冠疫情等原因，有三个教学点停止了中文教学，但与此同时也有新的中文教学点将陆续开设，如利耶帕亚海事学院、里加13中学、里加45中学等。然后，中文教师依次介绍各教学点的中文教学情况，未到场的老师播放提前录制好的介绍视频，留学生领事保护志愿者王涵曦介绍了留学生的情况。接着，由梁建全大使进行总结讲话，梁建全大使先肯定了大家的工作，希望大家在两国交流上继续发挥更大的作用，并表示明年中拉两国间的交流互访一定会增多，最后，梁建全大使亲切地慰问了汉语教师和留学生，并给大家美好的新年祝愿。交流会活动结束，参会者合影留念，并在欢乐的氛围中一起享受新年晚餐。
到此，交流会圆满结束，我们相信在大家的支持与合作下，拉脱维亚中文教学会蓬勃发展，中拉关系也将越来越好！
