Riga No.64 Middle School 2023-2024 Chinese course officially launched 拉脱维亚大学孔子学院里加64中学教学点 2023-2024学年中文课程正式启动

On September 29, the Chinese course for the 2023-2024 school year at Riga No.64 Middle School officially launched. The first week of the course was successfully completed. Mr. Xu Shen serves as the new Chinese teacher at this teaching point.

Chinese courses are mainly divided into zero-based classes for lower grades and beginner classes for middle grades. The first lesson starts with understanding China and Chinese language. The teacher first introduced himself and shared the meaning of his name, allowing the students to understand that Chinese names are full of meanings and emotions. Afterwards, a series of Chinese knowledge quizzes enabled students to quickly understand China and the Chinese language system. Then it came to the main topic. The students learned simple Chinese greetings through repeated reading and scenario simulation. This week coincided with the Mid-Autumn Festival. The teacher also briefly introduced the customs of the festival and shared the traditional food – mooncakes with the students.

This year is the fourth year that Riga No.64 Middle School has offered Chinese lessons. Up to now, a total of 9 Chinese classes have been opened and nearly 70 students have been enrolled. In addition to zero-based classes and beginner classes, 1v1 intermediate tutoring class is also started simultaneously.

本地时间9月29日，里加64中学2023-2024学年中文课正式启动，第一周课程顺利完成。公派教师徐申担任此教学点的新任中文教师。

中文课程主要分为低年级零基础班和中年级初级班。第一堂课从认识中国和中文开始。老师首先进行自我介绍并分享了其名字的含义，让学生体会了中国人的姓名饱含寓意和情感。紧接着，一系列的中文知识问答使学生快速了解了中国以及汉语系统。随后进入正题，学生们通过反复朗读、情景模拟等环节学会了简单的中文问候方式。开班第一周正值中秋佳节，老师也简单介绍了中秋节的习俗，和学生们一起品尝了中秋节传统美食月饼。

今年是里加64中学开设中文课的第四年。截至目前，共开设中文班级9个、招收学员近70人。除了零基础班、初级班，1对1中级辅导班也同步开启。
