Confucius Institute at University of Latvia successfully held 2024 Summer Camp / 热夏京广，势不可挡 —— 2024拉脱维亚大学孔子学院暑期夏令营顺利举行
On July 27, local time, the 2024 Summer Camp of Confucius Institute at University of Latvia(LUCI) came to a successful conclusion. Director of the School of Marxism at South China Normal University(SCNU) Zhu Minzhi, SCNU Associate Professor Li Lihua, LUCI Sponsored Chinese teacher Xu Shen and 10 Chinese language enthusiasts from Latvia gathered in Guangzhou and Beijing, completed a two-week summer trip to China together.
This summer camp was officially established on June 17. Professor Pēteris Pildegovičs, the Latvian director of the LUCI, and Professor He Dong, the Chinese director, attended the mobilization meeting of the summer camp, sharing their own Chinese stories and sending good wishes to everyone. On July 13, the summer camp set off for China and arrived smoothly on the 14th; after the school leaders of SCNU, the Chinese partner of the Confucius Institute at University of Latvia, presented the flag to the campers, the 2024 summer camp officially opened.
The summer camp is divided into two parts, Guangzhou and Beijing. During their stay in Guangzhou, the campers immersed themselves in the target language environment to learn Chinese knowledge, and had a deeper cultural experience in calligraphy, lacquer fans, martial arts, etc. They experienced Guangzhou’s cultural customs and made a one-day round trip to Shenzhen to experience China’s rise after the Reform and Opening-up Revolution. When they arrived in Beijing, the campers had a unique cultural journey: climbing the Great Wall, walking around the Forbidden City, visiting the Center for Language Education and Cooperation(CLEC), praying at the Temple of Heaven, appreciating the beauty of intangible cultural heritage at the Arts and Crafts Museum, and looking for the footprints of giant pandas at the Beijing Zoo.
This summer camp was funded by the CLEC, and greatly supported by the Office of International Exchange and Cooperation, the School of Marxism of SCNU and the School of International Culture. It was the first summer camp activity resumed by the LUCI after the COVID-19 pandemic, and it was also the seventh summer camp activity organized by the LUCI.
当地时间7月27日，2024拉脱维亚大学孔子学院暑期夏令营圆满落幕。华南师范大学马克思主义学院主任朱敏智、副教授李立华，拉大孔院公派教师徐申以及来自拉国的10位中文爱好者集结广州、奔赴北京，共同完成了为期两周的活力热夏中国行。
本期夏令营于6月17日正式成营，拉脱维亚大学孔子学院拉方院长贝德高教授、中方院长何东教授出席夏令营动员大会，分享各自中国故事的同时也向大家送上美好的祝愿。7月13日，夏令营一行动身前往中国，并于14日顺利抵达；拉大孔院中方合作院校华南师范大学的校领导向营员们授旗后，2024夏令营正式开营。
夏令营分为广州、北京两部分。广州期间，营员们置身目的语环境沉浸式学习汉语知识，更为深入地进行了书法、漆扇、武术等文化体验，实地考察了广州的人文风情、一日往返深圳感受改革开放后中国的大国崛起。到了北京，营员们迎来了一场别具一格的文化之旅：爬长城、逛故宫、参观中外语言交流合作中心，在天坛祈愿、在工艺美术馆领略非遗之美、在北京动物园寻找大熊猫的足迹。
本次夏令营受中外语言交流合作中心资助，得到了华南师范大学国际交流合作处、马克思主义学院和国际文化学院的大力支持，是新冠疫情后拉大孔院恢复举办的首次夏令营活动，也是孔院创办以来组织的第七期夏令营活动。
