The First General Meeting of Chinese Teacher and Volunteers held Successfully in Riga
Local time on November 15th, 2015, the first general meeting of Chinese teachers and volunteers held successfully in Riga. Consul of the Chinese Embassy in the Republic of Latvia, Mr. Zeng Fuhua, director of the Confucius Institute at the University of Latvia, Prof. Shang Quanyu, and all the Chinese teacher and volunteers attended this meeting.
At the beginning of this meeting, every attendee gave a brief self-introduction, which enhanced the understanding of each other and laid a good foundation for the next cooperation. Subsequently, Mr. Zeng Fuhua introduced the recent developments in Chinese language teaching in Latvian regions, indicated some problems in popularization of Chinese, scheduled some significant work in the next two years and make a good career prospect and strict requirements. After that, Chinese director of the Confucius Institute University of Latvia, Prof. Shang introduced the job responsibilities Chinese teachers and volunteers, made some specific requirements to promote the development of Chinese teaching and learning in Latvia and answered volunteers’ questions patiently. Finally, for fulfilling the demands of “The survey of Chinese Language Teaching and the Growth of Confucius Institute in Central and Eastern Europe”, Prof. Shang made a detailed deployment and arrangement.
With warm atmosphere throughout the meeting, all the attendees are confident to further enhance the promotion of Chinese language in Latvia and make contribution to deepen the friendship between the people of Latvia and China.
