The First Meeting of the Fourth Board of Confucius Institute at University of Latvia was held in Shanghai
The First Meeting of the Fourth Board of Confucius Institute at University of Latvia was successfully held in Shanghai Expo Center.
Janis Ikstens, vice president of the University of Latvia, Professor Peteris Pildegovics , Latvia Director of Confucius Institute at the University of Latvia, Wu Jian, vice president of South China Normal University, Dai Shu, Director of international exchanges and cooperation office at South China Normal University, Professor Shang Quanyu, Chinese Director of the Confucius Institute at the University of Latvia and Professor Huang Ximing, Former Chinese Director of the Confucius Institute at the University of Latvia attended this meeting.
The meeting begin with a vote, to elect the new council members. The new council Consists of both sides, the Chinese members are: Wu Jian, Dai Shu, Shang Quanyu and Huang Mingxi; Latvia members are: Janis Ikstens (new), Peteris Pildegovics, Alina, Frank and Agita Baltgalve(new). The new board members will work together to dedicate to Latvia’s development and progress of Chinese teaching.
After the vote, Professor Peteris Pildegovics gave a speech about ” work summary of Confucius Institute at the University of Latvia in 2015 “. After that, the Chinese Director of the Confucius Institute at the University of Latvia, professor Shang Q published “2016 Work Plan in Confucius Institute at University of Latvia “. Wu Jian, and Janis Ikstens also gave a speech affirmed the contribution that The Confucius Institute have made, and made a New Year’s outlook.
At last, the meeting also noted the future direction of the Confucius Institute at University of Latvia, proposed to study more from other outstanding Confucius Institute, put forward to further enhance the exchanges and cooperation of Latvia University and South China Normal University, to provide a strong guarantee for the Confucius Institute at the University of Latvia.
