Latvia local time at 13:00 on February13, 2016, Confucius Classroom at Daugavpils University held the Chinese lecture to high school students.
Chinese volunteer teacher Wang Zhijie first asked the students what’s their impression about China and what do they know about China. Everyone spoke out freely and gave the teachers different ideas. According to what the students said, the teacher gave them a brief introduction about China and Chinese people. Then she mad a comparison between Chinese and the language of Latvia and told the students the main two differences: Chinese character and tones. She also taught the students how to write Chinese character according to drawing and made them believe that learning Chinese is not difficult.

Teacher NI played t’ai chi ch’uan and introduced some information about Confucius Institute.

At the end of the lecture, Wang showed the traditional Chinese folk art: paper cutting and taught the students to do the paper cutting of panda. Finally, all the students were holding their “panda” paper-cutting happily and taking photos, hoping that they would have more opportunities to experience colorful Chinese culture.DSC04012 DSC04015 DSC04024 DSC04028 DSC04033
