This program is set for those whose native language is not Chinese.

2.  Senior high school graduation certificate. Graduation certificate in languages other than Chinese or English should be translated into Chinese or English and be certified by notarization. Current graduates of senior high school who have not yet obtained graduation certificate when applying for the Program are required to present an formal letter from their school indicating the designated date of graduation.

Transfer Requirements Those who receive education in Chinese Language or relevant programs in colleges or universities recognized by SCNU both in and outside China and fulfill the entrance requirements for undergraduate programs of the college can apply.

1.Transfer Methods
A. Applicants with HSK certificate level 3 (New HSK level 4) or above or passing the entrance level test of the College can apply to transfer to sophomore status according to the results of the tests or actual situations.
B. Applicants with HSK certificate level 6 (New HSK level 5) or above or passing the entrance level test of the College can apply to transfer to Junior status according to the results of the tests or actual situations.

2. Application Documents
Besides documents required for application for full-time undergraduate education, applicants for transfer should submit the following documents:
A. The original transcripts and education certificate of the college or university and the copies.
B.  Applicants with HSK Certificate should submit the copy of the HSK Certificates. The original certificates will be validated upon registration.
C. Applicants with junior college or undergraduate diploma should submit the copies of diploma and transcripts, and the original ones will be validated upon registration.

★ Note: Those who have studied the Chinese language for at least one semester at college in their own country or in a university in China other than South China Normal University are eligible to apply for placement to an appropriate class. Students of this category are required to present the relevant academic documents, including transcripts and HSK certificates of Band 3 or above.

Levels Chinese Language is divided into six levels:

Target Group Students dedicated to doing business and trade in China as well as employees in foreign enterprises.
Description Chinese for Business program is a carefully orchestrated program for international students by CIC, SCNU. CIC has offered Business Chinese as an optional course for years and obtained plentiful teaching experience. In order to improve students’ business competence as well as Chinese proficiency, CIC provides the particular program-Chinese for Business. It helps students obtain business knowledge and gain successful post-graduation involvement in business and trade work.
Curriculum Chinese for Business focus on Chinese Listening for Business, Business Conversation, Business Reading, Practical Writing for Business. All courses are to develop practical Chinese competence in business and commerce in four aspects: speaking, reading, listening and writing. It aims to improve students’ Chinese proficiency as well as business competence and expand commercial knowledge within a short duration.

If foreign colleges and universities or other institutions hold short-term CFL teacher training programs, the Department of Chinese Language of CIC can assign teachers abroad to instruct courses. Expenses are to be decided.
CIC also accepts CFL teachers from other countries to attend the short-term teacher training programs held in the College. The Department would provide tailored programs and courses to group trainees. Expenses are to be decided.
Note: CFL is short for Chinese as a foreign language.
