Chinese Tea Culture Activity took place in the Confucius Classroom at DaugavpilsUniversity, Local time at 3p.m., on 5th May, 2016.
Full of happiness and joy, nearly 10 people participated in the activity.
Prof. Maija Burima, the Dean of the faculty of Humanities, gives great support for this event.
And a million thanks for Ms Eva Kasparenoka and Ms Inesa Antonova. Before the activity, in order to hold the activity successfully, they made full preparation and gave lots of good suggestions.
The Chinese Tea Culture activity started from Interesting lecture for Chinese tea culture. Chinese teacher Ni Yirong gave a speech about ‘the story of tea’.
Then, Chinese volunteer teacher Wang Zhijie gave a speech about ‘the history of tea.
Next, both teachers performed tea ceremony of Oolong tea at some time for students. They brought everyone to Chinese tea art hilarious world. And then when students had some knowledge about cultural background and tea ceremony, teachers invited two students to perform by themselves. According to teacher’s guidance,the two students tried their best to perform the three difficult tea actions. The first action is ‘High mountains and running water’: to pour hot water with small teapot; The second action is ‘Phoenix three nod’:to add tea soup to fair cup; The third action is covering the tea-tasting cup on the fragrance cup. Actually, they performed very well and won the award.
At last,participants joined the question-answer game. Teachers asked 5 questions about tea and tea etiquette presented before, which made audiences rush to answer. Teachers also prepared tea gifts for students who answered the questions correctly.
The activity was held successfully!This activity enrich students’ knowledge of Chinese tea art, and helpful for students who wanted a deeper understanding of China.
