The establishment of Chinese corner at Riga Technical University

On May 7th, 2016, the opening ceremony of Chinese corner was successfully concluded in the Riga Technical University(RTU). Around 30 guests attended the ceremony , including the Consul of Chinese embassy in Latvia Mr. Zeng Fuhua, the Chinese Dean of Confucius Institute in Latvia University Mr.Shang Quanyu ,the Deputy Rector of RTU Mr. Igors Tipans and the Chinese teachers.

Mr.Tipans, the Deputy Rector of RTU said that the establishment of Chinese corner has a great significance to Chinese teaching of RTU, now RTU has cooperated closely with many Chinese universities, which benefits not only the relationship between the universities, but also the education system of China and Latvia. All the achievements rely on the great support of Chinese embassy in Latvia, In the end, he expressed appreciation to Chinese embassy.

Mr.Zeng, the Consul of Chinese embassy in Latvia addressed that RTU has made a great of contribution to promoting Chinese teaching, the establishment of Chinese corner pushes the Chinese teaching forward. He represents Chinese embassy to continue supporting RTU’s Chinese teaching, which will also promote the relationship between China and Latvia.

On the ceremony ,The students of RTU demonstrate their achievements of Chinese learning in terms of classical literature recitation and singing, which won the universal  applause of the audience .

The establishment of Chinese corner indicates that since then RTU has independent Chinese library ,Chinese teaching place and Chinese culture propaganda space, which will greatly promote the Chinese teaching at RTU.
