Confucius Institute of University of Latvia Held Orientation Meeting for Latvian Educational Delegation to China
On 12th May, orientation meeting for 2016 Latvian Educational Delegation to China was held in the conference room of University of Latvia. Chinese Director of Confucius Institute at University of Latvia Prof. Shang Quanyu presided this meeting, 8 members of delegation, delegation coordinator Ms. Dong Fang, secretary of Confucius Institute Mrs. Laura, Chinese volunteer teacher Ms. Cheng Xue attended this meeting.
At the meeting, Prof. Shang gave a brief introduction about Guangzhou that is the main destination of this trip, and also introduced the visit schedule and tips for visit. Next in the Q&A part, Prof. Shang and coordinator Ms. Dong answered various questions from members and arranged some details before and in the trip. All the members then had free talk to discuss and communicate about this visit to China. After the meeting, members of delegation expressed gratitude about all the arrangement from Confucius Institute, and believed that this visit would become a highly significant experience.
This Latvian Educational Delegation to China consists of 11 members who are from Latvian Ministry of Education, Education and Information Services of Riga, DaugavpilsUniversity, RezekneUniversity, RigaCultureSecondary School and Riga No. 34 Secondary School. The delegation will visit South China Normal University, and will visit some secondary schools for classes observation and forums, besides, delegation will have lectures about Chinese culture and education in China, which will lead to further exploration and discussion about current situation and prospect of Chinese teaching abroad, as well as communication of education and school system between China and Latvia.
