LUCI has successfully visited VUCI in Lithuania
From November 25th to 26th , Prof. Peteris Pidegovics, Latvian-side Director of LUCI, Prof. Shang Quanyu, Chinese-side Director of LUCI, Ms. Dong Fang , Chinese Teacher of LUCI, were invited by the Confucius Institute at the University of Vilnius in Lithuania (VUCI) to visit VUCI.
During the visit, the delegation from LUCI attended the Chinese Culture Week and The 6th Anniversary Concert of VUCI and other activities, meanwhile visited the New District of VUCI and discussed some information with the whole staff from VUCI.
What’s more, Prof. Peteris Pidegovics, Latvian-side Director of LUCI, gave a lecture about “ Chinese and Latvian dictionary compilation experience” in Lithuanian and Prof. Shang Quanyu, Chinese-side Director of LUCI, gave a lecture about “Gandhi Studies in China” in English. Many people like Director and Sinologists of Oriental Research Center of University of Vilnius, Director, Secretary, Volunteer Chinese Teachers of VUCI, the students who major in Orientalism at University of Vilnius participated in this lecture and ask questions interactively.
On behalf of the LUCI, Prof. Peteris Pidegovics, presented three “Latvian-Chinese Dictionary” and “The 5th Anniversary Book of the Confucius Institute at the University of Latvia” to the Oriental Research Center at University of Vilnius and VUCI. The delegation from LUCI invites VUCI to visit the LUCI at an appropriate time.
The visit has further deepened the close relationship between the two Confucius Institutes in the Baltic region, at the same time marking a new step in the cooperation and exchanges between the two sides.
