The Workshop of Experiencing Chinese Culture——Chinese Painting
Local time one p.m November 26, the Latvian Museum of Art held a wonderful cultural experience activities. The experience was jointly organized by the Confucius Institute at the University of Latvia and the Art Museum Riga Bourse. Two Chinese teachers Zeng Rong and Pan Bin from the Confucius Institute hosted the event with the assistant of Kristine from the Art Museum and another teacher Wu Wei from the Confucius Institute. Nearly 40 students attended the event. Most of them are adults, but there’s also some children.
At the beginning of the activity, Chinese teachers Zeng Rong and Pan Bin introduced the historical style of Chinese painting and the cultural implication of Panda bamboo drawing respectively in Chinese and English, and introduced the four treasures of study: brush, Xuan paper, ink-stone and ink. Next, they introduced the specific steps of drawing Panda and bamboo, the students are all enthusiastic, picked up the pen and couldn’t wait to start painting up. During this period, the Chinese teacher Zeng Rong presented a few pieces of her works to the students, and the students who got the works smiled happily.
At the end of the event, students took pictures of their paintings and took part in their own artistic creation. The whole cultural activities’ atmosphere is enthusiastic, so are the students, and this activity achieved good results.
