Chinese knot weaving activity at Confucius Classroom in Riga 34 Secondary School

初中生兴趣班体验了中国结编织活动。课堂的开始,教师通过实物和图片向学生展示了多种类型的中国结及其在中国服饰、建筑艺术中的运用,并介绍了吉祥结、双钱结、盘长结中福禄安康的美好寓意。随后班内开展了“寻找中国结”小游戏,学生们在教室的墙壁挂饰、工艺品、剪纸作品中找到一个又一个各式各样的中国结,玩得不亦乐乎,课堂氛围其乐融融。之后,教师向学生逐步演示了吉祥结的编织方法,并请学生挑选喜欢的彩绳进行尝试。期间,有的低年级学生在编织过程中遇到了困难,但在教师的指导和同学的帮助下克服困难,完成了手链编制。最终,所有人都做出了属于自己的中国结,在合影留念时流露出开心满足的笑容。
On May 26th, the students at Confucius Classroom in Riga 34 Secondary School experienced the activities of weaving Chinese knots and bracelets.
At the beginning of the class, teacher showed students various types of Chinese knots and their use in Chinese costumes and architectural art. And introduced the good meaning in different kinds of Chinese knot. Then the class launched the “Find Chinese knot” game. The students found many Chinese knots in the wall hangings, handicrafts and paper-cut works in the classroom. They enjoyed themselves. Afterwards, the teacher demonstrated the knitting method of the auspicious knot to the students, and asked the students to select the favorite color rope to try. During the period, some junior students encountered difficulties in the weaving process, but overcoming difficulties with the guidance of teachers and the help of classmates, and then completed the bracelet preparation. In the end, everyone made their own Chinese knot, and they showed a happy smile when they took a group photo.
High school students in the interest class weaved a beautiful flat bracelet as a gift for graduation.
This cultural class not only helps students improve their manual ability, but also gains self-confidence and happiness. It also broadens the students’ understanding of the Chinese knot and the aesthetic meaning behind it. The friendship between teachers and students are deepening in this Chinese knot weaving activity.
