2014-2015 Openning Ceremony of Confucius Institute at Latvia University

In the evening of September 29th 2014, the 2014-2015 Openning Ceremony of Confucius Institute at Latvia University was held in Rupniencibas Iela. The director of Chinese side of Confucius Institute at Latvia University, Mr. Shang Quanyu and the director of Latvian side Mr. Pildegovics, together with the teachers, volunteers and studets of Confucius Institute have attended it. The openning ceremony was hosted by Mr. Pildegovics. Firstly, he expressed his warm welcome to all the students, made a brief introduction of Confucius Institute at Latvia University and the new teachers as well as the previous ones. Then, Mr. Shang Quanyu also expressed his welcome and introduced the classes of this semester, showing his expectation of “Good good study, day day up” (Study hard and you will make continuous progress everyday”) to all the students. Later, the new teacher for kid’s class and beginning class, Ms. Jin Jing and the teacher for medium class and advanced class, Ms. Fang Siqi have both introduced their classes, making the students know more about the study of the new semester. Besides, the other teachers in Confucius Institute, Ms. Dongfang and Ms. Chengxue also made a self-introduction.
In this semester, the Confucius Institute has openned four kinds of classes — kid’s class, beginning class, medium class and advanced class, the students will have classes including Chinese language, Chines culture, HSk tutorial and so on. Moreover, it is the first time for the Confucius Institute at Latvia University to open a kid’s class.
