Confucius Institute at the University of Latvia held the second online HSK examination in 2022 as scheduled
On Saturday, June 25, 2022, Beijing time, the second annual Chinese Proficiency Test (HSK) in Latvia officially started. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this is still an online test. From May 31st to June 9th, 2022 is the registration time for the HSK exam. Although it was not the first exam this year, the institute has received information from candidates who were eager to register. The Confucius Institute’s exam this time covers HSK Level 1 to Level 4, and HSKK Elementary and Intermediate. A total of four sessions have been arranged. The HSK test is always done by adhering to the principle of fairness and openness. Candidates use the test client dedicated to Chinese Testing International to answer the questions and use the camera to take a snapshot in real time; the examiners use the Zoom conference software to record the whole process as the second camera for invigilating.
Shang Quanyu, Chinese director of Confucius Institute at University of Latvia, has actively organized relevant staff to cooperate closely and arranged for the chief examiner, Bai Bingyu, to make a detailed exam work plan before the exam, and Anastasija Galkina, secretary of the Confucius Institute as the translator during the test, in a timely manner, to implement the test notice, etc. After intensive preparations, the exam went smoothly.
At 13:00 on June 18th, 2022, Beijing time, 8:00 a.m. for Latvia local time, all invigilators used the Zoom conference software and the HSK test client to conduct a collective mock test for candidates. Starting at 13:00 on Saturday, June 25th, the first exam (HSK2 & HSK4) was prepared. Chinese Director of the Confucius Institute, Shang Quanyu, Li Min, all invigilators and candidates entered the meeting room on time. The invigilators assisted all candidates to log in the examination system, in the verification of equipment and environment in an orderly manner, and clarify the examination instructions. The examination officially started at 14:00 in the afternoon. Then, the second（HSKK intermediate）, the third (HSK2&HSK4) and the fourth（HSKK elementary）tests were also carried out in sequence. During this period, some problems occurred, such as candidates were unfamiliar with the examination process, computer equipment malfunctioned, etc. The technicians from Chinese Testing International, chief invigilators, and back-office technicians of the Institute searched for solutions for the candidates at the first time, so as to appease the emotions of the candidates, solve the problems for the candidates, and ensure the candidates get back to normal as soon as possible and successfully complete the exam. Invigilators summarize and reflect in a timely manner in order to improve and enhance the network invigilation work.
The last HSK home-based online test ended successfully at 22:40 Beijing time. The online test at home breaks through the barriers of time and space. Candidates can gather in the online test room, and the invigilators are able to provide help and guidance to the examinee in real time. Looking forward to the near future, the Confucius Institute at the University of Latvia will have the first offline examination after the pandemic, and provide candidates with more authentic and considerate examination services. 拉脱维亚大学孔子学院2022年6月HSK居家网考如期开展
北京时间2022年6月25日星期六，拉脱维亚2022年度第二次汉语水平考试（简称HSK考试）如期开展。由于疫情原因，本次延用居家网考的形式。从2022年5月31日至6月9日为HSK考试报名时间，尽管不是今年的首次考试，但孔院还是收到了考生们踊跃报名的信息。此次考试涵盖了HSK一级到四级，HSKK初级与中级，共安排了四个场次进行。汉语水平考试依旧秉持公平公正公开的原则，考生使用汉考国际专用的考试客户端进行答题，并实时通过第一机位抓拍；考官采用ZOOM会议软件全程录像，作为第二机位进行监考。
拉脱维亚大学孔子学院中方院长尚劝余组织有关工作人员紧密配合，安排了总监考官白冰玉老师在考前制定详细的考务工作计划、孔院秘书兼考试翻译高安娜女士及时落实考试通知。经过紧锣密鼓的筹备，本次考试顺利进行。
北京时间2022年6月18日下午13：00，拉脱维亚当地时间上午8：00，各位监考人员使用ZOOM会议软件与HSK考试客户端组织考生开展了集体模拟考试。6月25日星期六下午13：00开始，第一场（HSK2&HSK4）考试作考前准备，孔院中方院长尚劝余和李民、所有监考人员、考生们准时进入了会议间，监考官们有序协助各位考生登录考试客户端，进行设备、环境的核验，明确考试须知，考试于下午14：00正式开始。接着，第二场HSKK中级、第三场（HSK1&HSK3）、第四场HSKK初级三场考试也依次开展。期间，出现了部分考生不熟悉考试流程、电脑设备出现故障等问题，汉考国际技术人员、主监考人员、后台技术人员第一时间为考生寻找解决方案，安抚考生情绪、为考生排忧解难，确保考生尽快回到正常的状态并顺利完成考试。监考人员及时总结并反思，以便改善和提高网络监考工作。
最后一场HSK居家网考于北京时间晚上22：40圆满收官。居家网考突破了时间与空间的阻隔，学生们得以相聚线上考场，监考老师能够实时为考生提供帮助与指导。期盼不久的将来，拉脱维亚大学孔子学院实现疫情后的首次线下考试，给予考生们更真实、更贴心的考试服务。祝愿所有考生在本次HSK考试中取得理想的成绩！
