Introduction to Chinese Comedy with Jesse Appell: A Comedic Lecture about What’s Funny in Chinese.

Jesse Appell from United States is an intercultural comedian whose bilingual Chinese/English comedy focuses on using humor to bridge cultures. Jesse writes, performs, and produces comedy works for his over 2 million fans around the world.
His performance will introduce you the traditional Chinese comedic art of cross-talk Xiangsheng (相声) by showing off his own skills in the traditional art form. He will also share his own creative journey in the world of Chinese stand-up comedy, learning Chinese and living in the capital of the Middle Kingdom.
The show will be in English and does not require you to understand Chinese language or know much about the culture. Join the event to learn something new and have a great laugh while Jesse does stand-up comedy bits, Chinese tongue twisters or presents his hilarious internet videos.
At the end, there will be a Q&A, so do not miss it!
