On the afternoon of October 6, local time, Chinese Ambassador of Latvia Tang Songgen and Director of the Confucius Institute at the University of Latvia He Dong jointly visited Yekabpils Middle School to know the situation of Chinese teaching and discuss future exchanges and cooperation. The principal of Jekabupils Middle School, Mr. Valerjans Vizulis, the vice principal Ms. Dace Druveniece, the person in charge of Chinese teaching, Ms. Laima Avota, and the local volunteer Chinese teacher Shao Yueyuan participated in this event.

This visit coincides with the 104th anniversary of Jekabpils Middle School, Ambassador Tang, Professor He and other guests were invited to attend the anniversary concert. Afterwards, they visited the local Confucius Institute class and held Embassy book donation ceremony.

随后，在会议室举行了座谈会。校长介绍了叶卡布皮尔斯中学的发展历程，并提出西方文化和东方文化如鸟之双翼，缺一不可的观点，对今后学校与大使馆和孔子学院的合作表达了期待与展望。汉语教学点负责人拉伊玛女士回顾了汉语教学在叶卡布皮尔斯市的发展历程，介绍了当地汉语教学的未来规划。大使先生和何东院长对学校如此重视汉语教学表达了衷心地感谢，也对未来的合作和交流进行了展望。最后，在冷餐晚宴上，与会人员自由地交流思想。活动在一片欢声笑语中圆满结束。
