The 13th Riga Open Wushu Cup Has Successfully Concluded 第13届里加武术公开赛圆满落幕

[News from the Confucius Institute at the University of Latvia, Reporter: Zhong Mengting, Photographer: Li Xin] From October 6th to 8th, the 13th Riga Open Wushu Cup, organized by the Latvian Sports Wushu Federation, has successfully concluded in the gymnasium of the Riga Wushu Kungfu Sports School. The competition was live-streamed and attracted a total of 14 teams from 12 countries, including the Czech Republic, Colombia, Estonia, France, Germany, the UK, Italy, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Norway, Spain, and Sweden, with 176 participants competing in Wuhsu Taolu, Sanda, and Bingdao.

At the opening ceremony, Ambassador Mr. Tang Songgen and his wife Ms. Wang Qian from the Chinese Embassy of Latvia; Director Mr. He Dong and his wife Ms. Tao Liping from Confucius Institute at University of Latvia; President Mr. Roman Vlasenko and his wife Ms. Viktorija Vlasenko, Secretary Ms. Jana Kosenko from the Latvian Sports Wushu Federation; All judges; as well as the team leaders and participants from 12 countries witnessed the commencement of the competition.

Ambassador Mr. Tang Songgen delivered a speech and was pleased to see friends from different countries enjoying and practising Chinese Wushu and extended his best wishes to all Wushu athletes. Riga Wushu Kungfu Sports School, Konoha Martial Arts Academy, and the Estonian Wushu team all presented spectacular Wushu performances, such as lion dance, fitness dragon, and various traditional Wushu at the opening ceremony. Throughout the competition, International Wushu judges Michal Adamowicz、Alexander Raduncev and Roman Vlasenko took on the role of head judge in Wushu Taolu, Sanda, and Bingdao competition respectively. Ms. Zhong Mengting, a Wushu volunteer coach from the Confucius Institute at the University of Latvia, officiated as a judge in the Wushu Taolu competition. After fierce competition, the participants from the Riga Wushu Kungfu Sports School, an educational point of the Confucius Institute at the University of Latvia, exhibited outstanding prowess, securing multiple awards in various categories of Wushu Taolu, Sanda, and Bingdao.

The competition demonstrated the unique charm of Wushu sports and further promoted the international exchange and development of Chinese Kung Fu.

【拉脱维亚大学孔子学院讯  通讯员：钟梦婷 摄影：李欣】2023年10月6-8日，由拉脱维亚体育武术联合会主办的第13届里加武术公开赛在里加武术功夫体育学校体育馆圆满闭幕。本次大赛通过网络直播全程覆盖，共吸引了来自捷克、哥伦比亚、爱沙尼亚、法国、德国、英国、意大利、哈萨克斯坦、拉脱维亚、挪威、西班牙、瑞典等12个国家的14支队伍，共176名选手参与了武术套路、散打及兵道等多个项目的比赛。

在盛大的开幕式上，中国驻拉脱维亚大使唐松根与夫人王倩、拉脱维亚大学孔子学院院长何东与夫人陶丽萍、拉脱维亚体育武术联合会主席Roman Vlasenko与夫人Viktorija Vlasenko、秘书Jana Kosenko、裁判员以及12个国家代表队的领队与参赛选手共同见证了本次大赛的启动。唐松根大使致辞，很高兴看到各国朋友们喜欢并习练中国武术，并向所有武术运动员致以最美好的祝愿。里加武术功夫体育学校、康诺哈武术学院、爱沙尼亚武术代表队等均在开幕式上展示了精彩的武术表演，如舞狮、健身龙、各类传统武术等。赛事期间，国际武术裁判员Michal Adamowicz、Alexander Raduncev、Roman Vlasenko分别担任套路、散打和兵道项目的总裁判长，拉脱维亚大学孔子学院武术志愿者教师钟梦婷担任本次武术套路比赛裁判员。经过激烈角逐，拉脱维亚孔子学院教学点里加武术功夫体育学校展现了卓越实力，在套路、散打和兵道项目中斩获了多个冠、亚、季军荣誉。

本次大赛展现了武术运动的独特魅力，进一步推动了中国功夫的国际交流和发展。
