The First Meeting of the 12th Board of Directors of the Confucius Institute at South China Normal University and the University of Latvia Successfully Held

【News of the Confucius Institute at University of Latvia  Correspondent:He Dong Translation:Wang Beiya Photography: Li Ning】On the October 24, 2023, the 12th Council of the Confucius Institute at  University of Latvia, jointly established by South China Normal University and the University of Latvia, was held in the administrative building of South China Normal University. Tan Weihong, Director of the Management Office of the Confucius Institute at the school, Peteris Pildegovics, Director of Confucius Institute at University of Latvia from Latvian side, Shang Quanyu, former Director of Confucius Institute at University of Latvia from Chinese side, and He Dong, current Director of Confucius Institute at University of Latvia from Chinese side, attended the council meeting, which was chaired by Tan Weihong.

The meeting reelected the council. Four members each from China and Latvia, with Chinese members including Yang Zhongmin, Tan Weihong, Qin Honglei, and He Dong; Latvia members: Ina Druviete, Peteris Pildegovics, Sintija Maculeviča, Agita Baltgalve.

The meeting heard and approved the “2023 Work Summary of the Confucius Institute at the University of Latvia” and the “2024 Work Plan of the Confucius Institute at the University of Latvia”. The meeting believes that under the correct leadership of the Council, the Confucius Institute at University of Latvia has achieved significant results in Chinese language teaching and cultural activities in 2023. The work direction for 2024 is clear and the arrangements are detailed. The meeting pointed out that the Confucius Institute at the University of Latvia should make further efforts and strive to achieve greater results. The University of Latvia and South China Normal University will further enhance communication and cooperation between the two sides. The two universities will conduct in-depth cooperation in areas such as teacher visits and lectures, student joint training, and campus cultural exchange, continuously promoting the development of the Confucius Institute.

  华南师范大学—拉脱维亚大学孔子学院第十二届理事会第一次会议成功召开

【拉脱维亚大学孔子学院讯 通讯员 何东 摄影 李宁】2023年10月24日，华南师范大学与拉脱维亚大学合作共建的拉脱维亚大学孔子学院第十二届理事会在华南师范大学行政楼召开。学校孔子学院管理办公室主任谭伟红、拉方院长贝德高、前任中方院长尚劝余、现任中方院长何东出席理事会，会议由谭伟红主持。

会议改选了理事会。中拉双方各四名成员，中方成员：杨中民、谭伟红、秦洪雷、何东；拉方成员：德鲁维叶戴（Ina Druviete）、贝德高（Peteris Pildegovics）、辛迪亚（Sintija Maculeviča）、鲍葛薇（Agita Baltgalve）。

会议听取并审议通过了《拉脱维亚大学孔子学院2023年工作总结》《拉脱维亚大学孔子学院2024年工作计划》。会议认为，在理事会的正确领导下，拉脱维亚大学孔子学院在2023年的汉语教学和文化活动等方面取得显著成效，2024年的各项工作方向明确，安排细致。会议指出，拉脱维亚大学孔子学院要再接再厉，努力做出更大成绩。拉脱维亚大学和华南师范大学将进一步增强双方之间的交流与合作，两校将在“教师互访讲学、学生联合培养和校园文化交流”等方面进行深度合作，不断推动孔子学院向前发展。
