Contrasting Sino-Latvian Lifestyles: Third Chinese Corner Event Held by the Faculty of Humanities at University of Latvia 中拉生活方式之对比——人文学院举办第三次汉语角活动

Riga, November 17, 2023 – From 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM, the third Chinese Corner event of the academic year hosted by the Faculty of Humanities at University of Latvia took place at the Jia Jia Jia Chinese Restaurant. The event drew the participation of 22 Chinese language enthusiasts and Chinese international students from faculty of Humanities, the Confucius Institute, and various sectors of society. Professor Agita Baltgalve, the head of the Chinese department in the Faculty of Humanities at University of Latvia, presided over the event.

Participants were divided into pairs, engaging in lively discussions on topics such as the habits of daily life and learning in China and Latvia, as well as weekend leisure activities. During the group presentation session, Latvian participants practiced their Chinese language skills, while Chinese participants showcased their proficiency in Latvian.

The Chinese Corner remains committed to organizing diverse language exchange activities that stimulate students’ interests and provide an engaging and authentic Chinese-language environment for Chinese language enthusiasts in Latvia.

里加时间2023年11月17日下午六点半到八点半，拉脱维亚大学人文学院本学年第三场汉语角活动在加佳家中餐馆举行。活动吸引了来自人文学院、孔子学院以及社会各界的22位汉语爱好者和中国留学生参加，由人文学院中文专业负责人鲍葛薇教授主持。参加者们两两分组，就中拉两国生活学习之习惯、周末休闲活动等主题进行了热烈讨论。在小组报告环节，拉国参加者们锻炼了汉语，中国参加者则展示了他们的拉语。汉语角将继续致力于以多样的语言交流活动激发学生兴趣、为拉脱维亚汉语爱好者提供有趣真实的中文环境。
