Confucius Institute at Latvia University accepted interviews of Latvian Television

On December 10th, 2014, two special guests came to Confucius Institute at Latvia University. They are the reporter and videographer of Latvian Television. In order to produce a special program “Languages in Latvia”, they came to Confucius Institute to interview teachers and students, and also took videos of classes.
Is it hard to learn Chinese? Why do people say there are two Chinese New Year? …… These problems are most people who are interested in Chinese language and Chinese culture curious about. With these questions, the reporter interviewed the children’s class teacher Jin Jing of Confucius Institute, The teacher answered these questions, explaining these issues and talking about some Chinese cultural knowledge. In addition, the reporter also learned about the teaching content of language courses and learnt some simple daily communication words.
Subsequently, the reporter observed the ancient Chinese character lesson of advanced class. Teacher Zhang Jie explained the story and culture behind the ancient Chinese characters, and showed the evolution of Chinese characters since ancient times. Those beautiful ancient Chinese characters seemed to have life, catching people’s eyes. Then, the reporter came to the children’s class. When opening the door, an ink incense flied out. The children were having a Chinese calligraphy lesson. They held the brushes, carefully listening to teacher Jin Jing’s explanation. Then the reporter also participated. In a while, the character “Fu” fleshed out. After the lesson, the reporter interviewed the group of cute kids. Kids said it was a lot of fun to learn Chinese. Singing Chinese songs and doing Chinese games were their favorite. At last, they sang a Chinese song together.
