2015 Chinese Bridge Competition Written Examination was held in Confucius Institute
On 11th April,2015, the Confucius Institute at Latvia University hosted successfully the first round of 2015 Chinese Bridge Competition Written Examination. This is the first written examination ever held in Confucius Institute at Latvia University, so as to match the agenda of Chinese Bridge Competition to be held in China.This written examination is especially for the participants who take part in the intermediate level and advanced level of adult’s group. All of the examinations were held in the classrooms of the Academic Library of University of Latvia. 4 students participated in this exam, 2 of whom are from intermediate level in Room 410 and the other 2 are from advanced level in Room 415. The second round of 2015 Chinese Bridge Competition Written Examination will be held in main building of Latvia University later on.
Even though the Easter holiday was not far away, still the students arrived the test center very early with full of energy. During the examination, all of the students concentrated on the test, which is the best opportunity to examine their results of Chinese learning. The entire atmosphere was orderly. The candidates who took the exam are mostly students from different majors at University of Latvia. Among these candidates, some students want to estimate their Chinese level through the competition; more students desire to get the scholarship which will help them to visit China to continue their Chinese learning by taking part in the competition. A series of preferential policies and scholarship programs encourage more and more students to learn Chinese, to compete, and to visit China at last to experience the Chinese cultures.
In order to make sure the success of exams, the Confucius Institute prepared various matters about facilities and management of examination in advance. A few weeks before the exam, teachers of Confucius Institute tutored students for examination; before the exam, teachers tested all of the equipment and arranged the rooms to ensure no risk at all.
After the exam, professional Chinese language teachers from Confucius Institute responsibly give marks to different papers. The written examination score will be part of the total score in the final competition. In intermediate level, written examination takes up 10%. In advanced level, written examination takes up 30%.
