2016 Confucius Institute Scholarship Program Application Procedure
“孔子学院奖学金”由孔子学院总部设立，旨在鼓励世界各国学生、汉语教师来华学习、研修汉语和中国文化。我校作为孔子学院奖学金生接收单位，具体招生类别、对象、期限和申请条件介绍如下：
The Confucius Institute Scholarship Program is launched by Confucius Institute Headquarters (Hanban) in order to encourage students and Chinese teachers from around the globe to come to China to learn the Chinese language and Chinese culture. The categories, deadline for application and eligibility of prospective students to Liaoning University are as follows:
一、招生类别与申请条件 Category & Eligibility
（一）招生类别 Categories of Confucius Institute Scholarships
1、四周研修生（2016.7.15-8.14或2016.12.15-2017.1.4）
Scholarship for four-academic-week study (July 15–Aug. 14, 2016 or Dec. 15, 2016–Jan. 4, 2017)
2、一学期研修生（2016.9-2017.1 或2017.2-2017.7）
Scholarship for one-academic-semester study (Sept. 2016–Jan. 2017 or Feb. 2017–July 2017)
3、一学年研修生（2016.9-2017.7）
Scholarship for one-academic-year study (Sept. 2016–Jan. 2017)
（二）招生条件 Conditions of enrolment
1.非中国籍人士，身体健康，能够完成进修计划；
Applicants should own non-Chinese citizenship, and be in good health condition to finish the program;
2. 年龄16-35周岁（在职汉语教师年龄不超过45周岁）；
Applicants should be aged between 16 and 35 (applicants currently working in a Chinese language teaching position shall not exceed the age limit of 45);
3.遵守本国和中国法律，尊重中国的文化和民俗；
Applicants shall abide by Chinese Law, and respect Chinese culture and customs.
4. 四周研修生：资助期限为四周，以研修汉语为主。面向孔子学院（课堂）学员、HSK/BCT优秀考生和《孔子学院》期刊读者俱乐部优秀会员。申请者须提交HSK或BCT成绩报告，无来华留学经历。
Scholarship for Four-Week Study Students: This category provides a sponsorship for 4-week study which is mainly focusing on Chinese language. Application is mainly open to Confucius Institute (Classroom) students, excellent performers in HSK test, and outstanding club members of Confucius Institute Magazine. Applicant should submit a HSK or BCT score report, and have no prior experience of studying in China.
5.一学期研修生：资助期限为5个月。申请者无来华留学经历，汉语水平不低于HSK二级120分、HSKK初级40分，或者不低于BCT（A）100分、BCT（口语）120分。
Scholarship for One-Semester Study Students: This category provides a sponsorship for 5 months. Applicant should have no prior experience of studying in China, but have a minimum score of 120 in HSK Test (Level 2), and a minimum score of 40 in HSKK (Beginner Level). Alternatively, applicant should have a minimum score of 100 in BCT (A), and a minimum score of 120 in BCT (Speaking).
6．一学年研修生： 资助期限为11个月。面向孔子学院（课堂）学员，海外本土汉语教师、中文专业学生、HSK考试成绩优秀者，不招收在华留学生。汉语水平不低于HSK三级180分、HSKK初级60分，或者不低于BCT（A）180分、BCT（口语）180分。
Scholarship for One-Academic-Year Study Students: This category provides a sponsorship for 11 months. Application is open to Confucius Institute (Classroom) students, overseas Chinese language teachers, Chinese language major students and excellent performers in HSK test. International students who are now studying in China are not eligible for the scholarship. Applicant should have a minimum score of 180 in HSK Test (Level 3), and 60 in HSKK test (Beginner Level). Alternatively, applicant should hold a minimum score of 180 in BCT (A) , and a minimum score of 180 BCT (Speaking).
二、学习专业及特色项目 Majors and Feature Projects
(一) 学习专业:汉语言、汉语言文学 Majors: Chinese language, Chinese language and literature
(二）特色项目: 针对我校接收的三个招生类别，制定如下培养项目 Feature Projects: Projects for the three categories are as follows:
项目一：“体验中国、启梦计划”四周学分项目；
Project 1: “Weaving your dream — experiencing China”, a four-week program
培养目标：培养一种中国情缘、学会一项中华才艺、参与一系列中国传统文化体验活动。简称“111”培养目标。
Objectives: Creating a bond to China, learn a Chinese art, and participating in a series of cultural activities, also known as the “111”Project.
项目二: “感知中国、筑梦计划”一学期研修项目；
Project 2: “Pursuing the dream — knowing China”, a one-semester program
培养目标：培养一种中国情谊、学会二项中华才艺、达到三级汉语水平、掌握四项语言技能。简称“1234”培养目标；
Objectives: Developing a friendship with China, learning two Chinese art forms, reaching the Level 3 of HSK, and mastering four dimensions of language skills, also known as the “1234”Project.
项目三：“认知中国、圆梦计划”一学年研修项目；
Project 3: “Realizing the dream — perceiving China”, a one-year program
培养目标：培养一种中国情结、学会二项中华才艺、实践三大特色主题活动、掌握四项语言技能、达到五级汉语水平。简称“12345”培养目标。
Objectives: Building a tight bond to China, learn two Chinese art forms, participating in three featured activities, mastering four dimensions of language skills, and reaching Level 5 of HSK, also known as the “12345”Project.
三、奖学金资助内容及标准 Scholarship Coverage & Criteria
孔子学院奖学金全额资助内容包括：学费、住宿费、生活费、综合医疗保险费。生活费标准为：一学年和一学期研修生人民币2500 元/月。综合医疗保险费。由学校参照中国教育部来华留学有关规定统一购买，标准为800元人民币/人/年。
The Confucius Institute Scholarship provides full coverage on tuition fee, accommodation fee, living allowance and comprehensive medical insurance expenses. Living allowance is granted by the host institution monthly, 2500 RMB per month for one-academic-year students and one-academic-semester students. The medical insurance is bought by the host institution according to the regulations of Ministry of Education for international students, 800 RMB per person each year.
四、招生流程 Admission Procedures
1.自本办法发布之日起，可登陆孔子学院奖学金网站http://cis.chinese.cn查询接收院校及专业信息，注册个人账号，在线填写、提交《孔子学院奖学金申请表》，截止日期为5 月10 日。
As of the date of release of this document, applicants can log on to the Confucius Institute Scholarships website (http://cis.chinese.cn) to scan the programs of host universities, register, complete the Confucius Institute Scholarships Application Form online, and upload the scanned copies of relevant supporting documents. The application deadline is May 10.
2. 汉办委托各国孔子学院（独立设置的孔子课堂），有关海外汉语考试考点，中国驻外使（领）馆教育、文化处（组），接收院校和未建孔子学院国家的有关高等学校作为推荐机构，负责按招生要求审核属地申请者资格及申请材料，并于5 月20 日前将推荐名单汇总提交汉办。
Entrusted by Hanban, Confucius Institutes (independent Confucius Classrooms) in different countries, overseas Chinese language testing centers, educational and cultural sections of Chinese embassy and consulate, host institutions in China and relevant institutions in countries without Confucius Institutes are working as recommending institutions to engage in the applicant selection, materials review, host institutions connection, and collecting and handing in applicants’ documents to Hanban by May 20.
3. 接收院校负责审核申请者入学资格，并于5 月31 日前向汉办提交符合条件的奖学金留学生预录取名单。
Host institutions shall review the eligibility of applicants and hand in the admission list to Hanban before May 31.
4．汉办将组织专家进行评审，对符合条件者择优录取。获奖者名单将于6 月15 日后在奖学金网站查询，同时通知接收院校和推荐机构，并由推荐机构通知申请者本人。
The applications will be reviewed by Hanban on the basis of competitive selection. The admission results will be announced on June 15. The host institutions will also be informed of the admission list, and then inform the admitted applicants.
5．接收院校须于7 月1 日前将《录取通知书》、《报到须知》、《外国留学人员来华签证申请表》（JW202 表）和孔子学院奖学金证书电子版等入学材料寄达申请表中的接收地址，并及时通知推荐机构和申请者本人。
Host institutions shall post “Letter of Admission”, “Notice for Registration”, “Visa Application Form for Foreigners to Study in China” (JW202 Form), electronic file of the scholarship certificate and other relevant documents to the address put in the application form, and inform the home institutions and applicants.
五、申请材料 Application documents
申请者须登录奖学金网站，填写《孔子学院奖学金申请表》，并附上以下证明材料的电子文档：
Applicants are supposed to log on to the website of Confucius Institute Scholarship, fill out the Confucius Institute Scholarships Application Form, and upload the scanned copies of the following documents:
1. 护照照片页扫描件。
A scanned copy of the passport photo page.
2．HSK、HSKK 或BCT、BCT（口语）成绩报告。
Score reports of the HSK, HSKK or BCT, BCT (Speaking).
3．最高学历证明（毕业预期证明或在校学习证明，如非中文或英文证明，需提供相应的公证文件）。
Certification of the highest education diploma (or proof of expected graduation, certificate of enrollment). If the document is not written in Chinese or English, a notarization will be needed.
4．孔子学院推荐信。
Letter of recommendation of the Confucius Institute.
5．未满18 周岁的申请者，须提交在华法定监护人署名的委托证明文件。
Applicants under the age of 18 shall submit relevant documents of entrusted legal guardians in China.
6．“汉语桥”世界大、中学生中文比赛获奖者须提供由汉办颁发的奖学金证书。各国分赛区优胜者须提供获奖证明和赛区主办单位出具的推荐函。
Winners of the finals of the middle school and college students’ “Chinese Bridge” contests shall submit the “Confucius Institute Scholarship Certificate”. Winners of local areas shall submit the award certificate and a letter of recommendation from the host unit of the contest.
7．在职汉语教师须提交就职机构出具的在职证明和推荐信。
Chinese language teachers shall submit an employment verification letter and a reference letter provided by the institutes they work for.
六、注意事项 Notes
1．申请材料不完整或不符合招生条件的，概不受理。
Incomplete or unqualified applications will not be processed.
2．申请材料弄虚作假，或非本人填写提交的，一经查实，申请资格将被取消。
Applicants will be disqualified from application in case of fraudulent application materials or application materials are completed and submitted by someone else.
3. 获奖者因故不能报到，应在报到日前15天书面告知接收院校并注明原因。无故未报到者，取消奖学金资格。
Scholarship winners who cannot register with the host institutions on time should inform the host institution about the reasons in written form within 15 days before the admission date. For those who do not register as requested without reason, the scholarship will be canceled.
4．入学体检不合格，或中途退学、休学者，奖学金资格将被取消。
Scholarship will be canceled for those who do not pass the admission physical examination, drop out, or take schooling suspension during the study.
