the Opening Ceremony of the 8th Latvia Open Wushu Championships Was Successfully Held

当地时间3月7号，中午12点整，“第八届拉脱维亚武术锦标赛公开赛”在里加开幕。本次比赛由拉脱维亚武术协会主办，拉脱维亚大学孔子学院等多家单位协办。

中国驻拉脱维亚共和国大使馆商务处参赞沈晓凯，拉脱维亚中国文化中心主任张丽丽，拉脱维亚中国文化中心顾问杨松，拉脱维亚大学孔子学院中方院长尚劝余，武术志愿者黎锦豪，汉语教师志愿者及社会各界人士参加了本次活动。

本次武术公开赛汇聚了来自拉脱维亚、俄罗斯、白俄罗斯、立陶宛、挪威、瑞典、希腊等7个国家的120余名选手，年龄6岁至70岁不等。开幕式上，各国代表队为大家带来了太极拳、舞狮等一系列精彩绝伦的武术表演，赢得场上观众掌声连连。

开幕式后，欧洲武术联合会副主席、波罗的海武术联合会主席Gleb Muzruko及各位嘉宾为参赛选手颁奖。并对开幕式的圆满举行表达了由衷的祝贺，对参赛选手的专业表演给予了高度肯定，希望有更多的武术爱好者加入习武行列。

本次武术大赛不仅为广大武术爱好者提供了交流、切磋、展示的良好平台，也使世界人民对中国武术精神及中国传统文化有了更深的认识。

Local time on March 7, 12 o’clock, Opening Ceremony of the 8th Latvia Open Wushu Championships was held in Riga.

The event was held by the Wushu Association in Latvia and co-organized by the Confucius Institute at the University of Latvia and other organizations. Prof.Shang Quanyu, Chinese-side Director of LUCI, Shen Xiaokai, Counsellor of the Chinese Embassy in Latvia, Zhang Lili, Director of the Chinese Cultural Center in Latvia, Yang Song, Consultant of the Chinese Cultural Center in Latvia, Volunteer Chinese Teachers, representatives from various countries attended the event.

This competition has attracted more than 120 contestants from 7 countries, aged between 6 and 70, including Latvia, Russia, Belarus, Lithuania, Norway, Sweden and Greece. At the opening ceremony, Wushu teams from different countries presented fabulous Wushu performances.

After the opening ceremony, guests attending the event awarded for the contestants, expressed their sincere congratulations on the successful opening ceremony and highly praised the professional performances of the contestants.

This Wushu competition not only provides a good platform for Wushu enthusiasts to communicate and display, but also makes the people have a deeper understanding of the spirit of Chinese Wushu and traditional Chinese culture.
