Two director of the Confucius Institute participated in the 70th anniversary celebration of Riga 34 Secondary School 孔子学院两位院长出席里加34中学70周年校庆活动

On Friday, November 10, 2023, the 70th anniversary celebration of Riga 34 Secondary School was grandly held at the National Library of Latvia. Professor Peteris Pildegovics, Peteris Pildegovics the Director of Confucius Institute at University of Latvia from Latvian side., and Professor He Dong, Director of Confucius Institute at University of Latvia from Chinese side, as well as his wife, attended the celebration. Director Peteris Pildegovics, former Director of Confucius Institute at University of Latvia from Chinese side Shang Quanyu of the Confucius Institute congratulated Riga 34 Secondary School on its 70th anniversary through video. On site,  Director Peteris Pildegovics received a commendation from Natalia, the principal of No. 34 Secondary School, on behalf of the Confucius Institute. The students of the school sang the song “Love and Care” in both Latvia and Chinese.

Riga 34 Secondary School is one of the best schools in Riga, with a history of 70 years and is renowned for its language courses. One of the most prominent courses of the school at present is the Confucius Classroom at Riga 34 Secondary School, which collaborates with the Confucius Institute at the University of Latvia. It is one of the Confucius Classrooms in Latvia with the highest number of Chinese learners, the best teaching quality, and the most active participation of students in various cultural activities. At present, the teachers responsible for Chinese related activities at Riga 34 Secondary School include Principal Natalja Rogaleva, Vice Principal Marina Grecanina, Chinese language teacher Wang Beiya, Evita Kalme, Anastasija Galkina, and music teacher Svetlana Sibajeva.

【拉脱维亚大学孔子学院 通讯员 汪贝娅 图片 汪贝娅】2023年11月10日星期五，里加34中70周年校庆活动在拉脱维亚国家图书馆隆重举行。拉脱维亚大学孔子学院拉方院长贝德高教授、中方院长何东教授及夫人出席了庆典。贝德高院长和孔院前中方院长尚劝余以视频形式祝贺里加34中学建校70周年。在现场，贝德高院长代表孔子学院接受了34中校长娜塔莉娅的嘉奖。该校的学生们用拉中双语演唱了歌曲《爱与关怀》。

里加34中学是里加最好的学校之一，有七十年的办学历史，以语言类课程闻名。该学校目前最有亮点的课程之一是和拉脱维亚大学孔子学院合作的里加34中学孔子课堂，是拉脱维亚学习汉语人数最多，教学质量最好，学生参加各类文化活动最积极的孔子课堂之一。目前里加34中学负责中文有关活动的老师有娜塔莉娅校长、玛琳娜副校长、汉语教师汪贝娅、艾维塔、高安娜和音乐老师斯微特兰娜。
