Chinese New Year cultural lecture held by Confucius Classroom at Rezekne Academy of Technologies

拉脱维亚当地时间2018年2月28日下午六点，拉脱维亚大学下属雷泽克内大学孔子课堂的中国春节文化体验课拉开了序幕。

汉语志愿者教师赵倩首先用“新年快乐”这句中文向学生表达新年祝福，然后开始向大家介绍中国的传统节日—春节。她从月相图开始，先介绍了中国从古代开始一直使用的农历，向大家解释很多中国的传统节日都是根据农历而来，并告诉大家2018年是狗年。

介绍春节的时候，她先解释了春节的由来，然后又向大家介绍了在春节的时候，中国人一般怎样欢度新年。在讲到春节期间，长辈会给晚辈发红包时，她带领大家一起做红包。之后又带着学生剪“春”纸，做“春”饰。

一片欢声笑语中，文化体验结束。

Latvia local time at 18:00 on February 28, 2018, Chinese New Year cultural lecture held by Confucius Classroom at Rezekne Academy of Technologies began .

Chinese volunteer teacher Zhao Qian first greeted to the students and teachers with “Happy Chinese New Year” in Chinese language, then she began to introduce Chinese traditional festival — Spring Festival. At first,she depicted the phrase of the moon,and introduced the Chinese lunar calendar which has been used since ancient times.She also said that a lot of Chinese traditional festivals are based on the lunar calendar . Then she said 2018 is the Year of the Dog.

When Introducing Spring Festival, she first explained the origin of Chinese New Year, and how the Chinese people celebrate this Festival. When talking about during New Year,the elders will give the younger generation red envelope for good luck,the students are all curious,Chinese volunteer teacher Zhao Qian taught them to make their own “Chinese New Year Red Envelope”.After this,she taught them to make paper cutting and decoration of “chun”.

Finally, students were holding their “Chinese New Year Red Envelope” happily and taking photos, hoping that they would have more opportunities to experience colorful Chinese culture.
