At 14: 10 p.m. local time on October 1st, a Mid – Autumn Festival was held in the Chinese classroom of Latvian Jaunmārupe Primary School. The event was attended by teachers and students from the Chinese language class in Jaunmārupe Primary School. At the beginning of the activity, the teacher introduced the Mid – Autumn Festival activity to the students through PPT demonstration and video broadcast. The lively video introduction of ” goddess of the moon”, ” Wu Gang Cutting cassia tree” and ” Jade Rabbit Tamping Medicine” aroused students’ strong interest in the Mid – Autumn Festival. Especially after the video was played, the students raised their hands one by one to ask the teacher about the details of the story, for example, what happened to Wu Gang? Why the jade rabbit was in the moon and so on. The classroom was filled with joy. Then through the story of the jade rabbit, the teacher folded the colored paper together with the students to make a rabbit. Then, the teacher showed the pictures of the moon at different times to introduce to the students that the Mid – Autumn Festival is a festival to reunite with their families, and led to the origin of the shape of moon cakes. The students nodded and suddenly realized that it was common with the moon. Finally, the teacher shared the mooncakes brought from China with the students, who were very excited and happy, they said it was the first time to eat mooncakes and they were very delicious. Other students said they would take it home to give mom and dad to have a taste. In this way, in an atmosphere of joy and activity, teachers and students are enjoying themselves while eating moon cakes and telling stories.
