Ventspils University Chinese Culture Course in November——“Calligraphy, Chinese Painting”

当地时间，2018年11月5号到11月11号，文茨皮尔斯大学四个汉语班的学生们在当地志愿者老师朱会平的带领下，了解了中华文化中文房四宝的魅力，知道了磨条在砚台上竟能磨出墨汁，掌握了手持毛笔的正确方法，尤其是当她们用毛笔和墨汁小心翼翼地触碰在宣纸上，最后写出自己的汉语名字时，她们是非常激动的。随后，我们一边复习，一边联系简单的汉字书写，大家写出来的都是正宗的“方块字”，很不错呢！

最后，我们一起观看了几个简单地国画教学视频，他们为之惊叹之余，也想利用写字剩下的墨汁，制作一个最简单的“吹墨梅花”，大家也都充分发挥了自己的创作力，有的画作清新委婉，有的画作抽象飘逸，大家最后评选出来的最美画作也别具一格。最后，大家小心翼翼地把自己的作品卷起来，很认真地说要带回去作纪念，希望这一周的“书法、国画”课能为他们打开中华文化的大门，让他们不断地去探索。

Local time, from November 5th to November 11th, 2018, the students of the four Chinese classes at Ventspils University, under the leadership of local volunteer Chinese teacher Zhu Huiping, learned about the four treasures in Chinese calligraphy, especially when they carefully touched the paper with a brush and ink, and finally wrote their own Chinese names on the paper, they were very excited. Later, we reviewed and wrote simple Chinese characters. Everyone wrote the authentic “square characters”, which is very good!
Finally, we watched a few simple Chinese painting videos together. They were amazed and wanted to use the remaining ink to make the simplest “Blowing Plum Blossoms”. Everyone also gave full play to their creativity. Some paintings are fresh and euphemistic, and some paintings are abstract and elegant. The most beautiful paintings that everyone finally selected are also unique. Finally, they carefully rolled up their work and seriously said that they would bring it back. I hope that this week’s “Calligraphy, Chinese Painting” class will open the door to Chinese culture for them to explore.
