The First Meeting of the 8th CIUL Board Was Successfully Held
2019年12月9日，拉脱维亚大学孔子学院第八届理事会第一次会议在长沙成功召开。出席会议的有华南师范大学副校长兼拉脱维亚大学孔子学院理事长吴坚、华南师范大学国际合作交流处孔子学院管理办公室副主任秦洪雷、拉脱维亚大学孔子学院拉方院长贝德高、拉脱维亚大学孔子学院中方院长尚劝余、华南师范大学外国语言文化学院院长谷红丽。
会议由秦洪雷主持，会议听取并审议通过了《拉脱维亚大学孔子学院2019年工作总结》（贝德高院长）和《拉脱维亚大学孔子学院2020年工作计划》（尚劝余院长），并对相关问题进行了讨论，贝德高院长介绍了下届中方院长候选人面试情况和结果，吴坚副校长宣布下届孔子学院中方院长人选，会议肯定了孔子学院的工作，并对孔子学院提出了殷切期望，拉脱维亚大学和华南师范大学进一步增强双方之间的交流与合作，保障拉脱维亚大学孔子学院的可持续发展。
On December 9, 2019, the first meeting of the 8th CIUL board was successfully held in Changsha. Vice-President of South China Normal University and Chairman of Confucius Institute at University of Latvia Mr Wu Jian, Vice-director of Confucius Institute Management Office of South China Normal University Mr Qin Honglei, Latvian Director of Confucius Institute at University of Latvia Mr Peteris Pildegovics, Chinese Director of Confucius Institute at University of Latvia Mr Shang Quanyu, Dean of School of Foreign Studies of South China Normal University Ms Gu Hongli participated the meeting.
At the meeting which was hosted by Mr Qin Honglei, the 2019 CIUL Work Report (made by Director Peteris Pildegovics) and 2020 CIUL Work Plan (made by Director Shang Quanyu) were examined and approved. Also, Director Peteris Pildegovics explained the process and result of interview of the candidates of future Chinese director, and Vice-President Wu Jian announced the final decision about the future Chinese director. Furthermore, the meeting confirmed CIUL’s achievements and put forward that University of Latvia and South China Normal University would further strengthen their exchanges and cooperation so as to ensure sustainable development of CIUL.
