The online Chinese class of Latvian Academy of Culture was launched successfully

Local time on the afternoon of September 9, 2020, the teachers and students of Latvian Academy of Culture started the first online Chinese class by using the Zoom platform. The internet shortens the distance between people and provides great convenience for the development of online courses. Teachers and students are no longer limited to offline, and the choice of time and location is more flexible. We can take this teaching practice as a good example.

Before starting the class officially, teachers and students asked questions to know each other. After that, the Chinese teacher used games and other methods to make a simple review of the students’ knowledge, which includes vocabulary, grammar, phonetics, and Chinese characters. It is worth mentioning that the teacher has adopted the method of summarizing to review and expand the vocabulary of students. This method was approbated by students, and they thought it was interesting and useful.

当地时间2020年9月9日下午，文化学院师生采用zoom平台开始了第一堂线上汉语课。互联网缩短了人与人之间的距离，为线上课程的开展提供了极大的便利。教师授课、学生学习都不再局限于线下，时间、地点的选择也更具有灵活性。此次教学实践就是很好的例证。

在正式开始授课之前，师生互相提问认识了解了彼此。之后，汉语教师采用游戏等方式对学生已学知识进行了简单的复习总结，其中内容包括词汇、语法、语音和汉字部分。值得一提的是，汉字部分教师采用了总结类推的方法复习和拓展学生的词汇量，这一方法受到了学生的喜爱，有学生评价它有趣又有用。
