The First Chinese Lesson of the Confucius Classroom at Riga Cultures Secondary School Successfully Held

At 8:00 on September 15, 2022 local time, the Confucius Classroom of Riga Cultures Secondary School opened the first Chinese class of the new school year. Li Xin, a Chinese volunteer teacher, came to the classroom early to wait for the students.

This is the first Chinese class of this school year, and also the first offline Chinese class of Riga Cultures Secondary School after the epidemic. The students came into the classroom continuously with expectations. Although they had taken online courses for a year last year, they still showed their shyness. After greeting, the teacher made a formal self-introduction to the students, and the students also introduced themselves one by one. Under the guidance of the teacher’s questions, the students recalled, reviewed and summarized the Chinese learning achievements of the past year. Through group discussion, they proposed the goal of learning more Chinese words in the new school year. Finally, the teacher led the students to consolidate and review the cultural knowledge of the Mid-Autumn Festival, and enjoyed the moon cakes together. The students all smiled like flowers and said “thank you” kindly. We finally started “real Chinese learning”!

After class, the teacher distributed greeting cards and panda pendants to each student. The students of Grade 11 sang the song “Find Friends” together with the teacher, and ended the first lesson of the school with a cheerful song. The sun shines into the Confucius classroom, and the warm sunshine will soon bring the sound of reading Chinese!

当地时间2022年9月15日8时，里加文化中学孔子课堂开启了新学年第一节中文课，中文教师李欣早早地来到教室等候学生们的到来。

这是本学年的第一节汉语课，也是疫情后里加文化中学的第一次线下中文课，学生带着期待陆陆续续地进入教室，虽然去年已经上过一年网络课程了，但学生们还是表现得及其害羞。在寒暄问候之后，教师向学生做了正式的自我介绍，学生也挨个做了自我介绍。在教师的问题引导下，学生回忆复习以及总结了过去一年的中文学习成果，并通过小组讨论，提出了新一年想要学习更多汉字词汇的目标。最后，教师带领学生一起巩固复习了中秋节的文化知识，并一起享用了月饼，学生们都笑颜如花，亲切地说着“谢谢您”，我们终于开启了“真正的中文学习”！

课后，教师给每个学生分发了贺卡和熊猫挂件，11年级的学生们和教师一起合唱了“找朋友”歌曲，在欢快的歌声中结束了开学第一课。
