All is satisfactory，the Adult Junior Class Of Confucius Institute begins successfully
On October 3 and 4, Latvia time, the Adult Junior Class of the Confucius Institute of the University at Latvia begins successfully, Volunteer Chinese teacher Tang Jing held the opening ceremony.
This is the first batch of offline students to be welcomed by Confucius Institute headquarters after two years. Although it was the first time to meet each other, everyone was excited and happy. Among the students, there are undergraduates from the University of Latvia, social figures who have already participated in work, and even elder Chinese language lovers. For this, the adult Junior class is divided into two groups: Group A and Group B, students can choose one according to their own time.
Before class, the students filled out a Chinese learning questionnaire so that teacher Tang knows each student. Firstly, chinese volunteer teacher Tang Jing welcomed all students and made a self-introduction, showed her hometown – Sichuan province , as well as Sichuan cuisine, such as Hot pot, Chuanchuan, Maocai, Bowl chicken, etc. There also introduced the Panda, Sichuan Opera and Facial makeups, students were very interested and raised interesting questions. Then teacher Tang introduced the contents of Chinese class, mainly covering grammar, pronunciation, Chinese characters, cultural knowledge, thematic teaching and so on. Teacher Tang then used “nǐ hǎo” to introduce three components of Chinese Pinyin: initials, finals and tones, and started Pinyin teaching. In the learning of finals, Teacher Tang introduced some pronunciation methods, such as “holding nose” to distinguish the two initials “n” and “l”. After class, the students can read the them by themselves. In the laughter, the class ended successfully. Teacher Tang and students took a photo together, some students even felt reluctant to part.
In addition to the offline classes for Adult Junior class, a large number of chinese volunteers will also come to Latvia on October 6th to start offline Chinese teaching for intermediate and advanced adults. 当地时间2022年10月3日、4日，拉脱维亚大学孔子学院本部成人初级班顺利开课，汉语教师志愿者唐静举行了开班仪式。这是时隔两年后，孔院本部迎来的第一批线下学生，大家虽然是第一次见面，但却毫不陌生，激动欣喜之情溢于言表。在他们当中，有来自拉脱维亚大学的本科生，也有已经参与工作的社会人士，更有年长的汉语爱好者，为此，成人初级班分为A、B两个班，学生可依据自己的时间选择班级。
上课前，学生们填写了汉语学习问卷，唐老师了解了每位学生的情况。正式上课时，志愿者教师唐静首先对同学们表示欢迎，并进行了自我介绍，向学生们展示了自己的家乡四川，以及四川的美食：火锅、串串、冒菜、钵钵鸡等，还介绍了大熊猫、川剧、脸谱，同学们表示很感兴趣并提出了一些有趣的问题。接着唐老师介绍了汉语课的内容，主要涵盖语法、语音、汉字、文化知识、主题教学等方面。随后唐老师用“nǐ hǎo”介绍了汉语拼音的三个组成部分：声母、韵母和声调，并开启了拼音教学。在声韵母教读中，唐老师介绍了一些发音方法，比如用“捏鼻子”的方法让大家区分“n l”两个声母。一堂课下来，学生们都能自己读声韵母，在欢声笑语中，第一次课堂圆满结束，师生一起合影留念，学生们甚至有些依依不舍。
除成人初级班线下开课以外，一大批志愿者也即将在10.6日来到拉脱维亚，开启线下成人中级、高级、高高级的汉语教学，让我们共同期待他们的到来，一起聆听孔院的汉语之声！
