The fifth anniversary of the Confucius Classroom in Riga 34 Middle School and the celebration of the Spring Festival were successfully held
The New Year is coming. It’s really lively. Children, laugh and congratulate everyone on a happy New Year! In order to celebrate the 2023 Spring Festival and the fifth anniversary of the opening of the Confucius Classroom in Riga 34 Middle School, the Spring Festival Gala hosted by Riga 34 Middle School in Latvia was successfully held at 2-5 p.m. on February 3, Riga time. The guests attending the event included Ambassador Liang Jianquan of the Chinese Embassy in Latvia, Natalja Rogaleva, the president of Riga 34 Middle School, Marina Grecanina, the vice president of Riga 34 Middle School,Peteris Pildegovics the Latin president of the Confucius Institute at the University of Latvia, Shang Quanyu, the Chinese president, Wang Nan, the director of the Riga China Cultural Center, and the Riga Municipal Council, Education, Culture and Sports Committee. More than 100 people, including representatives of teachers and students of Riga 34 Middle School, gathered together to celebrate the fifth anniversary of the establishment of the Confucius Classroom and the New Year of the Rabbit. The activity site was decorated with Chinese red lanterns, Spring Festival couplets, “Fu” characters, Chinese style vases and flower arrangements, and exhibited the works of the Chinese painting competition of the students of Riga 34 Middle School.
At the beginning of the event, the headmaster of Riga 34 Middle School, Ambassador Liang Jianquan, Dean Shang Quanyu and Dean Badgao delivered speeches respectively, praising the long history of learning Chinese in Riga 34 Middle School, the large number of students and the enthusiasm of students, and hoping that the Confucius Classroom of Riga 34 Middle School will become better and better. Wang Beiya, a volunteer teacher at Riga 34 Middle School, also introduced herself in Latin and Chinese.
There are 14 programs and three special events. The scene was very exciting, the atmosphere was high, and the children were particularly excited. “Happy New Year” opened with the most sincere wishes to the guests. Next, the students played different Chinese zodiac signs. The song and acrobatic performance of “Bugs Fly” show the innocence and wisdom of children. The performance of “Picture Heart” shows everyone the unique beauty of playing Chinese songs with foreign instruments. The seventh grade students performed the recitation of “The Legend of the Year of the Rabbit”, and the primary school students also brought the performance of the New Year’s Day and Spring Festival poems.
During the interval of enjoying the song, the vice principal Marina Grecanina and the local teacher Evita Kalme also gave awards to the students who won the prize in the painting competition. The headmaster of Riga 34 Middle School presented the award to Professor Shang personally, thanked him for all he had done for the children of Riga 34 Middle School to learn Chinese, and brought him two moving songs “Where is my friend” and “Listen to me say thank you”. The most exciting part is the question and answer session of Chinese knowledge. The students are very active in answering the questions. Everyone hopes to answer the questions by themselves. The children who answer the questions correctly get the gifts from China. After the answer, everyone enjoyed the ballet performance “Chinese Doll”. Then there is the zither performance and the tea art performance plus the zither accompaniment. Near the end of the program, a song “Smile to the World” sung by students expressed the children’s desire for the world, and “Singing and Smiling” is the best gift for all guests. Finally, the martial arts association brought us a lion dance performance. The lion was powerful, tall and naughty, and won the cheers and applause of the students. Finally, Professor Bei made a concluding speech.
After the event, the guests moved to the Confucius Classroom for a visit. The Confucius Classroom is decorated with Chinese characteristics and won unanimous praise from the guests. The students enjoyed the juice, snacks and fruit prepared for them outside the auditorium, and all their faces were full of joy.
This activity not only makes all guests feel the warmth, festivity and joy of the Spring Festival, but also enables them to learn more about traditional Chinese festival culture, promote children’s in-depth understanding and love of China, and promote the development of Chinese education. 新年到，真热闹，小朋友，哈哈笑，祝贺大家新年好！为庆祝2023年春节和里加34中学孔子课堂开办五周年，里加时间2月3日下午2-5点，由拉脱维亚里加34中学主办的春节联欢活动在里加34中学大礼堂成功举办。出席本次活动的嘉宾有中国驻拉脱维亚大使馆梁建全大使、里加34中学校长Natalja Rogaleva、里加34中学副校长Marina Grecanina,，拉脱维亚大学孔子学院拉方院长贝德高、中方院长尚劝余、里加中国文化中心主任王楠、里加市议会、教育、文化和体育委员会。里加34中学师生代表等百余人欢聚一堂，共庆该校孔子课堂成立五周年和兔年新春。 活动现场用中国大红灯笼、春联、“福”字、中国式样的花瓶和插花等装点得喜气洋洋，并展出了里加34中学学生中国绘画比赛作品。
活动伊始, 里加34中学校长、梁建全大使、尚劝余院长、贝德高院长分别致辞，表扬了里加34中学学汉语的历史悠久、人数众多、学生积极，并希望里加34中学孔子课堂越来越好。里加34中学的志愿者老师汪贝娅也用拉文和中文进行了自我介绍。
本次共有十四个节目和三个特别活动。现场十分精彩，气氛高涨，孩子们特别兴奋。《新年好》开场，唱出了对来宾最诚挚的祝福。接着，学生们扮演的生肖各有特色。而《虫儿飞》这一歌曲和杂技表演表现了孩子们的纯真和智慧。《画心》的演奏则给所有人展示了用外国乐器演奏中国歌曲的别样的美。七年级的学生表演了朗诵《兔年传说》，小学生也带来了元日和春节诗的表演。
在欣赏歌曲的间隙，副校长Marina Grecanina,和本土老师Evita Kalme还给在绘画比赛中获奖的学生颁奖。而里加34中学的校长亲自给尚教授颁奖，感谢他为里加34中学孩子学习汉语所做的一切，并为他带来了两首动人的歌曲《我的朋友在哪里》和《听我说谢谢你》。最激动人心的是中国知识问答环节，学生们抢答特别积极，所有人都希望点到自己回答问题，回答正确的孩子得到了中国的礼物。抢答过后，大家欣赏芭蕾舞表演《中国娃娃》。然后是古筝表演和茶艺表演加古筝伴奏。节目接近尾声，一曲由学生演唱的《向世界微笑》表达了孩子们对世界的渴望，而《歌声与微笑》则是送给各位来宾的最好的礼物。最后武术协会给我们带来了舞狮表演，狮子威猛高大，又调皮可爱，赢得了学生的欢呼和掌声。最后，贝教授进行了总结致辞。
在活动结束后，嘉宾们移步孔子课堂教室进行参观。孔子课堂的教室布置的非常有中国特色，赢得了嘉宾的一致称赞。学生们则在礼堂外享受给他们准备的果汁、零食和水果，所有人脸上都充满了欢乐的气息。
此次活动不仅让所有来宾感受到春节的温暖、喜庆、欢乐，也能让他们了解到更多的中国传统节日文化，促进孩子们对中国的深入了解和喜爱，推进中文教育事业的发展。拉脱维亚大学孔子学院祝大家兔年大吉，新春吉祥！
