Rezekne Central Library Book Fair “My Chinese Story”
At 3:00 pm on May 23, 2023 local time, Professor Pēteris Pildegovičs, the Latvian director of the Confucius Institute at the University of Latvia, held the “My Chinese Story” book fair in the Rezekne Central Library.
The guests attending the event included: Professor Pēteris Pildegovičs, the Latvian director of the Confucius Institute at the University of Latvia, Professor Shang Quanyu, the Chinese director of the Confucius Institute at the University of Latvia, Professor Iveta Mietule, the president of the Rezekne Academy of Technologies, and Professor Angelika Jusko-Stekele, the vice president. At the same time, Zhou Man, a Chinese teacher and students from the Confucius Classroom at Rezekne Academy of Technologies, and the citizens of Rezekne actively participated in the book fair.
At the beginning of the activity, Prof. Angelika Jusko-Stekele, vice president of Rezekne Academy of Technologies, delivered a speech, and then Prof. Pēteris Pildegovičs, the Latvian director of the Confucius Institute at the University of Latvia, introduced himself in Chinese and Latvian, and then Prof. Pēteris Pildegovičs detailed introduction two books, “My Chinese Story” and “Selected Translations of Tang Poems”, and told his Chinese stories. The audience responded enthusiastically, and the audience actively participated in the question-and-answer session. At the end of the activity, Rezekne Academy of Technologies and Rezekne Central Library presented gifts and flowers to Professor Pēteris Pildegovičs, and thanked Professor Pēteris Pildegovičs for his wonderful lecture. Professor Pēteris Pildegovičs inscribed and donated books to the Rezekne Central Library, and also inscribed and donated books to the students of the Confucius Classroom and citizens who came to participate in the book fair. After the event, the Confucius Classroom at Rezekne Academy of Technologies provided coffee, tea, and snacks for everyone, and everyone had a good chat.
The book fair “My Chinese Story” was a complete success. This event promoted Professor Pēteris Pildegovičs ‘s books “My Chinese Story” and “Selected Translations of Tang Poems”, which strengthened the relationship between the Confucius Classroom and the Confucius Institute. The Latvian staff and the Chinese staff actively discussed relevant issues and cooperated actively to promote the better development of Chinese language teaching. At the same time, this book fair has also increased the enthusiasm of the citizens of Rezekne to learn Chinese, and it is believed that more and more people will join the ranks of learning Chinese!

出席活动的嘉宾有：拉脱维亚大学孔子学院拉方院长贝德高教授、拉脱维亚大学孔子学院中方院长尚劝余教授、雷泽克内大学校长Iveta Mietule 教授 ，副校长Angelika Jusko-Stekele教授等。同时，雷泽克内大学孔子课堂汉语教师周蔓和学员以及雷泽克内市民积极参与书展活动。
活动伊始，由雷泽克内大学副校长Angelika Jusko-Stekele教授发言致辞，而后拉脱维亚大学孔子学院拉方院长贝德高教授开始用中文和拉脱维亚语进行自我介绍，紧接着贝德高教授详细介绍了《我的中国故事》和《唐诗选译》这两本书，讲述了他的中国故事，现场反响热烈，听众们积极参与问答环节，贝德高教授为听众们一一解惑。活动最后，雷泽克内大学及雷泽克内市图书馆为贝德高教授赠礼献花，感谢贝德高教授的精彩讲座。贝德高教授题字赠书给雷泽克内市图书馆，并为前来参加书展活动的孔子课堂学员及市民题字赠书。活动结束后，雷泽克内大学孔子课堂为大家提供了咖啡、茶、点心等，大家相谈甚欢。
此次书展“我的中国故事”圆满成功，本次活动推广了贝德高教授的书籍《我的中国故事》和《唐诗选译》，加强了孔子课堂与孔子学院之间的联系，拉方和中方人员积极探讨相关问题，积极合作，推动汉语教学更好地发展。同时，本次书展活动也提高了雷泽克内市民对汉语学习的积极性，相信会有越来越多的人加入汉语学习的行列中！
