Chinese Embassy in Latvia Book Presentation Ceremony Held at the Library of the Faculty of Humanities, University of Latvia 中国驻拉脱维亚大使馆赠书仪式在拉脱维亚大学人文学院图书馆举行

Today, Director Zhang Zeyang of the Chinese Embassy in Latvia visited the Library of the Faculty of Humanities of the University of Latvia to conduct a solemn book-giving ceremony to further promote cultural exchanges between China and Latvia, and to enrich the Chinese-language collection of the Library of the University of Latvia.

He Dong, the Chinese Director of the Confucius Institute at the University of Latvia, and Ms. Natalia, the Secretary of the Faculty of Humanities, as well as Ms. Victoria from the Library, attended the event. At the ceremony, Director Zhang Zeyang, on behalf of the Chinese Embassy in Latvia, donated selected books to the Library of the Faculty of Humanities of the University of Latvia, covering a wide range of fields such as literature, history, art, etc., including different language versions such as Chinese-English and English, all of which are new books published in the past two years, totaling two sets of 400 books.

Ms. Victoria said that the gift of these books will provide teachers and students at the University of Latvia with more opportunities to learn about Chinese culture, history and society, and promote cultural exchanges and cooperation between the two countries. She expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the Chinese Embassy in Latvia for the generous donation and looked forward to more similar cultural exchange activities in the future.

Director Zhang Zeyang, on the other hand, said that the Embassy has prepared 200 books for each Confucius classroom and Chinese language teaching center in Latvia, and the donation is expected to be completed in December. It is hoped that these books can provide Latvian teachers and students with more opportunities to learn about China and promote the friendship and exchange between the young generation of the two countries.

The book donation ceremony has built a new bridge for cultural exchanges between China and Latvia, and added rich Chinese resources to the library of the University of Latvia, which will certainly play a positive role in promoting the process of cultural exchanges between the two countries in the future.

拉脱维亚大学孔子学院中方院长何东和人文学院秘书娜塔莉娅女士以及图书馆的维多利娅女士出席了此次活动。在仪式上，张泽阳主任代表中国驻拉脱维亚大使馆向拉脱维亚大学人文学院图书馆捐赠了精选的图书，涵盖了文学、历史、艺术等多个领域，包括中英文与英文等不同语言版本，均为近两年出版的新书籍，共计两套400册。

维多利亚女士表示，这批书籍的赠送将为拉脱维亚大学师生提供更多了解中国文化、历史和社会的机会，促进两国之间的文化交流与合作。她对中国驻拉脱维亚大使馆的慷慨捐赠表示衷心感谢，并期待未来更多类似的文化交流活动。

张泽阳主任则表示，大使馆为拉脱维亚每个孔子课堂及汉语教学点都准备了200册图书，预计将于12月捐赠完毕。希望这些图书能够为拉脱维亚的师生们提供更多了解中国的机会，促进两国青年一代的友谊和交流。

此次赠书仪式为中拉文化交流搭建了新的桥梁，也为拉脱维亚大学图书馆增添了丰富的中文资源，必将在未来推动两国文化交流的进程中发挥积极作用。
