The Confucius Classroom Negotiation and the Book Donation Ceremony of the Chinese Embassy were Successfully Held at Daugavgriva Secondary School 道加瓦河口中学孔子课堂工作洽谈暨中国大使馆赠书仪式成功举行

At 14:00 on November 23, Latvian time, Chinese Director of the Confucius Institute at the University of Latvia Professor He Dong and Latvian Director Professor Pēteris Pildegovičs, the secretary of the Confucius Institute at Latvian University Anastasija Galkina went to Daugavgriva Secondary School to discuss Chinese teaching matters. Olga Seļutina and Ļubova Bogdanova Židkova, the principal and vice-principal of Daugavgriva Secondary School, attended the negotiation. The meeting mainly focused on the theme of upgrading Chinese Programme at Daugavgriva Secondary School into a Confucius Classroom. The two directors introduced the basic situation of the Confucius Institute at the University of Latvia and discussed the specific matters of upgrading the Confucius Classroom.

Subsequently, Director Zhang Zeyang of the Chinese Embassy in Latvia, on behalf of the Chinese Embassy, donated more than 200 selected books to the library of Daugavgriva Secondary School, covering various fields such as history, culture, economy and technology etc.. At the book-giving ceremony, Director Zhang Zeyang said that the Chinese Embassy in Latvia will continue to fully support the Chinese teaching in Latvia, provide more learning conditions for students who love Chinese language and culture, and provide principals with more opportunities for exchanges in China.

Finally, the principal of Daugavgriva Secondary School fully affirmed the school’s Chinese teaching, was full of confidence in the upcoming new cooperation, and expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the Chinese Embassy in Latvia for the generous donation.

The negotiation and book donation ceremony ended with happiness and laughter. We believe these new books will open more windows to understand Chinese language and Chinese culture for the students of Daugavgriva Secondary School; We believe that in the near future, Daugavgriva Secondary School will also unveil a new look——Confucius Classroom to open a new chapter in Chinese teaching and contribute to the Chinese teaching in Latvia.

随后，张泽阳主任代表中国驻拉脱维亚大使馆，向学校捐赠200余册精选图书，涵盖中国历史、文化、经济与科技等众多领域。张主任表示，大使馆将一如既往地全力支持拉脱维亚的中文教育事业，为喜爱中国语言和文化的学生提供学习条件，为校长提供更多的赴中国交流的机会。

最后，道加瓦河口中学校长对学校的中文教学给予了充分肯定，对即将进行的全新合作也满怀信心，并对中国驻拉脱维亚大使馆的慷慨赠书表示衷心的感谢。

此次工作洽谈和赠书仪式在欢声笑语中结束。相信百余册崭新的书籍，将会为道加瓦河口中学的学生打开更多扇了解中国的窗口；相信在不久的将来，道加瓦河口中学也将以全新的面貌——孔子课堂，揭开中文教学的新篇章，为拉脱维亚的汉语教学事业添砖加瓦。
