The 21th “Chinese Bridge” Chinese Competition in Latvia successfully held in Riga拉脱维亚第 21 届 “汉语桥 “中文比赛在里加成功举办

On April 24^th, 2024 Latvian time, the 21th “Chinese Bridge” Competition in Latvia kicked off in the auditorium of the University of Latvia. The competition was sponsored by the Embassy of China in Latvia, organized by Confucius Institute at University of Latvia, and co-organized by Faculty of Humanities at University of Latvia and dozens of teaching sites and Confucius Classrooms. Mr. Tang Songgen, ambassador of the Chinese Embassy in Latvia attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech. Mr. Enno Ence, Vice-Rector of the University of Latvia, Mr. Fan Shengqiu and his wife, Ms. He Xi, Military Attache, Ms. Song Danhui, chargé d’affaires of the Chinese Embassy in Latvia, Ms. Wang Nan, director of the Latvian Chinese Cultural Center, Pro. Peteris Pildegovics, the director of the Confucius Institute at the University of Latvia from Latvian side, Professor He Dong, the director of Confucius Institute at University of Latvia from Chinese side, Ms. Jana Antipova, Psychology Teacher from Riga No.13 Middle School, Ms. Zhang Hongge, Chinese artist living in Latvia and representatives from Latvian universities and middle schools and nearly 100 guests and contestants from primary schools participated in this “Chinese Bridge” activity.

The competition officially started on the morning of April 24^th in Latvian time. Firstly, the primary school groups and university adult groups competed. Dressed in traditional Chinese costumes – cheongsams and hanfu, the contestants performed traditional Chinese musical instruments such as the flute, sang Chinese pop music, performed traditional dances, drew Chinese paintings on the spot, and recounted stories about Chinese tea, traditional festivals, and the little carp jumping over the Dragon Gate and so on. On April 25^th, at the auditorium of the University of Latvia, students from 23 schools including Riga Secondary School No.13, Riga Secondary School No.1, Kraslava Secondary School, and Riga Daugavgriva Secondary School competed intensely in the primary, intermediate and advanced groups. Some students sang Chinese songs and recited poems, while others performed classical Chinese dance and traditional martial arts. Students in the Advanced Group also gave wonderful speeches on topics such as “Chinese Dragons”, “Chinese Poetry”, “The Four Treasures” and “Miraculous Herbs”， expressing their deep understanding and sincere love of Chinese culture. After two days of fierce competition, the “Chinese Bridge” competition was successfully concluded on the afternoon of April 25^th. Eva Volkova, Albina Pusko, Timurs Strumilovs, Maksims Ostrovskis, Naama Rozenberga, Anna Ņikitina, Lukjančikova Darja, Jana Bagrova and Veronika Krivko won the championship in each category.

The “Chinese Bridge” competition provides a stage for Latvian students to show their achievements in Chinese language learning, and at the same time promotes cultural exchanges and understanding between China and Latvia. Through the competition, students can not only improve their language skills, but also gain an in-depth understanding of Chinese culture and increase their interest in and understanding of China. In addition, the competition also builds a bridge for educational exchanges between Latvia and China, and promotes the development of educational cooperation and friendship between the two countries. It is hoped that more and more students will participate in the activities of “Chinese Bridge” in the future, so that they can learn the charm of Chinese language and Chinese culture.

当地时间2024年4月24-25日，拉脱维亚第21届“汉语桥”中文比赛在拉脱维亚大学小礼堂拉开帷幕，本届大赛由中国驻拉脱维亚大使馆主办，拉脱维亚大学孔子学院承办，拉脱维亚大学人文学院等数十个教学点和孔子课堂协办。中国驻拉脱维亚大使馆大使唐松根出席了拉脱维亚赛区预选赛区开幕式并发表致辞。拉脱维亚大学副校长Enno Ence 先生、中国驻拉脱维亚大使馆宋丹卉公参、武官范胜球与何希夫妇、里加中国文化中心王楠主任、拉脱维亚大学孔子学院外方院长贝德高教授、中方院长何东教授、里加十三中学心理老师Jana Antipova女士、旅拉艺术家张红戈女士以及来自拉脱维亚大中小学的近百位嘉宾和参赛选手近百人参加本次“汉语桥”活动。

当地时间4月24日上午比赛正式开始。首先进行的是小学组和大学成人组的比赛，选手们身着中国传统服饰–旗袍和汉服，有的表演中国传统乐器长笛，有的演唱中国流行音乐，有的表演传统舞蹈，有的现场表演画中国画，还有的讲述了关于中国茶、传统节日、小鲤鱼跳龙门等故事。4月25日在拉脱维亚大学主楼小礼堂，来自里加13中学、里加第一中学、克拉斯拉瓦中学、道家瓦河口中学等23所学校的学生展开了中学初、中、高级组的紧张激烈角逐。有的学生唱中文歌、诗朗诵，有的学生表演中国古典舞和传统武术。高级组的学生们还围绕“中国龙”、“中国诗歌”、“文房四宝”、“神奇的草药”等主题进行了精彩的演讲，表达了他们对中华文化深刻的理解与真挚的热爱。经过两天的激烈角逐，本次“汉语桥”比赛于4月25日下午圆满结束。Eva Volkova、王芯雅、季穆尔、马克沁、南湘、安娜、蓝星辰、赖琳娜和尼卡等几位选手获得各组别的冠军。

“汉语桥”比赛为拉脱维亚的学生提供了一个展示他们汉语学习成果的舞台，同时也促进了中拉脱维亚之间的文化交流与理解。通过比赛，学生们不仅可以提升自己的语言技能，还能深入了解中国文化，增进对中国的兴趣和了解。此外，比赛也为拉脱维亚和中国之间的教育交流搭建了桥梁，促进了两国教育合作与友谊的发展。希望未来越来越多的大中小学生参与到“汉语桥”的活动当中，共同体会汉语和中华文化的魅力。
